As this Sunday is voting day for the New Constitution, can I get some suggestions of good Thai phrases to use when going around on Sunday.

e.g.

Did you vote for the Constitution today?

Do you support the new Constitution?

Did you vote for or against the new Constitution?

etc.

The question - Are you selling beer today? I can work out for myself.

Thanks. I take it โหวต is the more popular English derived word to use instead of ลงมติ

With respect to Constitution รัฐธรรมนูญ my dictionary give the pronunciation as รัดทํามะนูน

However so sometimes I hear what sounds to me like รัดทะทํามะนูน

Am I hearing incorrectly?

รัด ถะ ทำ มะ นูน

It is interesting that the RID provides two alternative pronunciations: "รัฐธรรมนูญ [รัดถะทํามะนูน, รัดทํามะนูน]", perhaps with a preference for the first. Maybe this is equivalent to calling a university (มหาวิทยาลัย), "มะ-หา-ลัย".

I've googled

But for มหาวิทยาลัย have only correct pronounciation as มะ หา วิด ทะ ยา ไล

มหาลัย is informal short cut.

Not much good for the rest of us ignoramuses who can't read Thai.

What about a phonetic spelling?

Just feed the text into www.thai2english.com and it will spit it out in phonetics for you (not 100% reliable as the rendering engine does not know of all exceptions, but often reliable enough).

I took Meadish's suggestion for a transliterated rendering and applied it to a sentence from the newspaper today.

This is what "Thai2English" produced, using the Mary Haas phonetic version:
