Just make sure you don't do what I did, I tried ironing a new plastic 20 Baht to see if it smoothed it out nicely, it did, the only problem is that it ended up the size of a postage stamp.

I have heard that putting one in the microwave also has an interesting affect.

The polymer ones don't iron like the paper notes do

Maybe this means we have the end of the world.

But you can us your QR code / scan for 99% of payments.

No real need for panic.

In Australia 99% of folks just touch the bank machine or even just flash their debit card near the machine and all paid.

People appreciate that it's so simple and fast, no need to find the right bank notes/coins in your purse/wallet and no neeed wait for change and then carry coins around.

We're still pretty lucky in Thailand although Myanmar , Laos and Cambo are better for paying with cash.

Australian technology.

I think the first time that I ever saw polymer notes was on a trip to Oz in the early '90's. Much better than paper.

As more and more large data centres are built, that suck up more and more electricity, causing the price to go up, I wonder how long it will be before the banks start charging to pay by scan.

They do it for ATM's, they  do it for blockchain transfers. they will save a fortune on staff and rentals, but enough is never enough where banks are concerned.

Banks now allow/accept blockchain transfers ?

Don't crybaby, life goes on.

Plastic money its horrid stuff they have it in NZ and it's a horrible note sticks together and won't bend but very hard to counterfeit, maybe Russia caused this, I think drug money caused it to be produced in NZ

Are these the ones, if you fold them, you can never flatten them out again? 😆

kinda yeah.

Upside though, stick one in the oven for 20mins at 180 degrees (celcius, not that seppo crap) and they wrinkle up and shrink.. drill a small hole in the corner and they are an awseome one of a kind  key ring dangly!

Prolly best not to do with Thai currency if you visit/live here... I get the plastic notes from Aus friends.
