Trump Demands Epstein Files, Targets House Republicans’ Delay

US President Donald Trump has called on House Republicans to vote for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted paedophile financier. On Sunday night, Trump stated that Republicans should act "because we have nothing to hide." This comes amid a slow release of documents by House Democrats, some mentioning Trump, who has consistently denied any connection to Epstein's illicit activities.

The shift in Trump's position follows the disclosure by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee of email exchanges between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Although these exchanges reference Trump, they do not implicate him in any wrongdoing. Trump's demand for transparency has also sparked discussions about other notable figures associated with Epstein, including former US President Bill Clinton.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is gaining traction, with potentially dozens of Republicans willing to break party ranks and support it. This bill aims to compel the Justice Department to disclose all unclassified records, documents, and investigative materials linked to Epstein. While it's poised to pass the House, the bill's prospects in the Senate are less certain.

Adding to the complexity, a public spat has erupted between Trump and his supporter, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Trump criticised Greene, labelling her as "wacky" and a "traitor," which has led to questions about his "America First" stance. Greene accused Trump of using her as a warning to other Republicans considering supporting the bill, reported the BBC.

The US Justice Department has confirmed an investigation into Epstein's alleged connections to major banks and prominent Democrats, including Clinton, who has denied knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Names like LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers have surfaced in recent document releases. Both have addressed their past associations with Epstein, with Summers expressing regret and Hoffman clarifying his minimal contact.

Democrats see Trump's actions and rhetoric regarding these files as an attempt to undermine their narrative. The release of the documents could reveal Epstein's interactions with various influential individuals, potentially impacting political and social dynamics.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump urges Republicans to release Epstein files for transparency.
  • The Epstein Files Transparency Act gains significant Republican support.
  • Epstein's links to powerful figures remain under investigation.

Not much of family values Trump brings to the party of socially conservatives rooted in traditional Christian beliefs.

The Epstein files won’t be released while Trump is president. He will turn the situation around and use the files as a an investigation into Bill Clinton and others. Whilst they are under investigation no information from the files can be divulged/ released to the public

Taco time again. A few things strike me about this U-turn. Firstly, maybe he’s realised the division among the ranks of the reps would mean the vote on releasing the files will go through, which would be seen as a major failure for him, thus showing his leadership as weak within the party which is the last thing he needs right now and affect the mid terms next year, as seen by the most recent elections this month.

Secondly, while all the furore about the Epstein files, and what they contain has been going on, a significant period of time has passed long enough for his sycophants in the DOJ, FBI and other departments to screen them and “wash” any mentions of him from the documents suggesting his involvement in activities that would expose him.

Lastly, should the vote go through the house it has to go to the senate. If it passes there it has to be signed off by the orange turd himself and do you think a pathological liar and felon, who claims his innocence of everything, but proven guilty of sexual abuse and tax fraud, is ever gonna do that.
He’s just playing games like he always does to stop the truth from ever being known.

Or at least that’s what he’ll try.

Been? I've never even heard of those places. Are they in Bangkok?

Besides, why would I want to go somewhere like Spanky's, Sexy Nights or XXX Lounge? What a ridiculous assertion.

1.   Never said I went there.

2.   US politicians are not being accused of going to a BKK Gogo bar. Apples and oranges.

I don't know if he has enough juice left to make this happen. I absolutely believe he may have gawked at the little ones on Epstein Island but didn't rape any of them, otherwise the victim(s) would have come forward by now.

I also believe he has been protecting many of the wealthy donors (I can't say "friends," he doesn't have any real friends) by suppressing and diverting. This issue is too close to the surface, has too much visibility and the outrage has reached critical mass. Time will tell.

Are you a Russian bot? Have you ever been to Thailand? Given your lack of even most basic newbie knowledge, I'd guess you just come here to troll, given your track record of posts

Ah so that may explain why harrisfan has been quiet of late. Maybe gearing up for a new ID.

I’d better apologise to Jonny for mistaking him for susanlea then. Or maybe not, because his posts really are far right drivel.
