US President Donald Trump has labelled the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein file controversy as "irrelevant", while activists and politicians ramp up efforts for full transparency. In an Oval Office address, Trump dismissed the demands for more disclosure, calling it a "Democrat hoax" intended to distract from his presidency's achievements.

 

Meanwhile, survivors and a bipartisan group, led by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie and Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna, are pushing for the Justice Department to release all withheld Epstein records.

 

This has led to a showdown with House Republican leadership, who argue that the House Oversight Committee's ongoing investigation is the correct approach, reported ABC News.

 

Massie’s discharge petition to force a vote has gathered 206 signatures, needing 218 to succeed. Only four Republicans have backed it so far, while House Speaker Mike Johnson has urged Republicans to oppose it, advocating instead for the Oversight Committee’s more extensive investigation.

 

Survivors argue the action's pace is slow, emphasising the real trauma they've endured.

Deflection is more accurate and is what he meant when taken in the context of what he said. Basically he said this is to take the focus away from things like DC now being safe again and Democrat run cities not being safe.

As for your above link nobody is denying what Epstein did this still doesn't make Trump guilty of anything as much as posters on here say he is.
