the good news is:

Forty years ago I sold fifty shares of my company stock and had enough

money to purchase a brand-new 1967 Ford pickup. Last week, I checked it

out, and if I sold another fifty shares, Id have enough money to buy a

1967 Ford pickup. So, the market has stabilized.

:D

:D:D:D Leave it to Naam to find the bright side. :o

Well, I'm drunk and read between the lines. Global correction- no sht! How can global home values increase 100% in in 8 years? We are correcting and and it is what it is. Get over it! Sorry if you followed the herd and got burned.

How about about a thread, why I was idiotically greedy.

Economist: I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that there is still plenty of money out there to pay for all the bailouts so far and the new bailouts that will be required to sort out the mess caused by the bailouts.

The bad news is that the money is still in your pockets.

7 also means that 7 months from now (April/May 2009) the whole system will melt down and I mean a real melt down.

A long term prediction I know, but I have been right in the past.

Can you say what has brought you to this conclusion time wise?

hmmm... Alex. may i humbly draw your attention to the gold price prediction you made several months ago? :D

and why is there a delay of the total melt down for another seven months? :o only days ago you forecasted the meltdown for this week. but then... i admit the week is not over. something terrible might happen this weekend, like my dog pooing in the pool :D

I predicted a 13000 THB gold price and I was spot on a year or so ago.

I predicted an economical crisis would happen in the first two weeks of October. Yes I agree not a total meltdown yet.

I dunno how these things come to my mind.

I just sit in front of the screen and see things.

Gold will hit 20.000 (or near to it) at the end of this year.

So what was your reference to the "7th Principle" about Alex? Admit it, you've been reading the web-bots right? I must say they've been remarkably prescient for the last year or more. I sure as hel_l hope their correct prediction streak is about to come to an end soon, as they paint a pretty bleak picture of the next 6 months and beyond.

I guess if the Cascadia fault gives way in early December and massive Tsunamis hit Oregon,Washington and British Columbia, followed by a string of volcanic eruptions in the region then I too may start believing this web-bot stuff :D

I have to admit that I haven't been folowing this thread so I was wondering if the figure you gave for gold was in Dollars or Euros (i.e. will gold be $20/ounce or $20 euros/ounce by years end?) I know that things are getting rather bleak in many parts of the globe but I don't think that gold will fall to much more than about $625/ounce by years end! Now a year from now I could easily see gold back at $350/ounce :D

continental €uropeans use a comma for decimals and a dot to enhance sums Vic. hence in €urope 20.000 = 20,000 int the GNoE™ :D

Yes I meant 20.000 THB for gold, at the end of this year or beginning 2009.

Something big is also about to happen first month 2009, not sure what it is, something with oversea issues.

This whole financial stuff is just the beginning of something else.

Something bigger.

Something else is in the make.

22 or 23 is what I see.

Also something in December, I dunno what.

Sorry all for being off topic.

Actually since Alex said 13000 THB then said it will reach 20.000 I just think it was a errant ....

20,000 THB is probably what he meant?

I know what he meant, I just can't resist poking fun at the gold bugs from time to time :o BTW gold just broke below $770/ounce it is currently trding at $768 :D Once again I will reiterate my sell recomendation on Gold, I see gold hitting $650/ounce by years end!!!

I hope it is sooner if ever. I would like to start easing into a 10% stake.

$660-ish is where I hoped to start. I dont know if I can find anything though in 1 oz coins. There are some krugerrands in 4 weeks that supposedly will be available :o

Euro to dip against dollar 4 quarter possibly -33% :o:D

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Global-Corre...html&st=800

Feb MARCH 2009 Euro Aussie Dollar up again 20-25%.

B o t will have to devalue also. Possibly 7%

Then i'm only a amateur. :D

If your prediction is correct and the Euro drops below $1.10 vs. the dollar, then it is certainly within the relm of possibility that it could have a bounce back to $1.30 early in the year, but you are way off on the Aussie Dollar prediction! Oil, Gold, Copper and most commodities will continue in a bear market for some time to come, and since the Aussie $ is closely tied to commodities it will not see the light of day for quite a while :D The BOT thing is a nobrainer, they have to stop selling their dollar reserves sometime, even one of the board of Governors of the BOT came out the other day calling for a 5% devaluing, so your a little late on that call Bizzy :D

Stocks Dive as Crisis Erodes Earnings

By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM

The malaise on Wall Street simply will not lift.

Despite cheaper oil and looser credit, stock investors on Wednesday could not shake their fears about the consequences of an economy that many believe is already in a recession. Worries about the corporate sector sent the Dow Jones industrials down about 500 points for the day.

The broader stock market fell almost 6 percent, a plunge that in any other financial environment would be considered extraordinary. Instead, it counted only as the worst loss since last Wednesday, when the Dow plunged 733 points.

At its weakest point Wednesday afternoon, the Dow was off by nearly 700 points.

Nouriel Roubini: Worst is ahead of us - Recession Will Last At Least Two Years

15:41 EST Wednesday, Oct 22, 2008

Nouriel Roubini, the New York University professor who has emerged as one of the leading commentators during this financial crisis, continues to say frightening things. His latest comments, made on CNBC, give a good overview of why markets have been roiled lately by economic news.

“The worst is still ahead of us,” Mr. Roubini said, noting that the flow of macro-economic news over the next several weeks and months will be worse than expected.

He believes that there will be a sharp decline in earnings, and not just for financial firms. Emerging markets, he said, will fall into crisis. And hundreds of hedge funds will close down, putting additional pressure on the stock market as they liquidate their positions, and making cash the best possible investment.

Yes, recent government actions have probably averted the risk of a systemic financial meltdown. But the risk of an L-shaped recession, where two years of economic contractions are followed by a lengthy period of subpar growth, is realistic. And that doesn't just apply to the United States, but to all developed economies, including Canada.

As for commodities, including oil, expect another 20 per cent slide.

Mr. Roubini is not uplifting, but you can't look away.
