Blood pressure medication

Featured Replies

My doctor has started me on blood pressure medication

I'm not happy with it although says no choice at 145/110

I was on this Amlodinpine but made me tired so I have started Valsartan which gives me energy but I read it can cause cancer now I  think more about taking it and not eat bananas on it apparently

If you have high BP stay off TRT ( testereone injection)

I knew a guy in Duamagette Philippines ( YouTuber) who had heart problems but started TRT at 250mg a week....he left the earth

Sorry, I'm not sure what your question is ???

To lower your BP there are a lot of ways including exercises. How old are you?

21

You're confused. @newbee2022 was asking for your age which is highly relevant, not your IQ.

Was there a question ?

what do bananas have to do with anything?

you started a thread about TRT injections a while back, didn't you?

so you stopped the TRT now? Or ... do you think it can still affect you even if you stopped ?

I was put on Amlodipine a week ago, don't notice any tiredness. My BP seems to be better. We go to the Tambone health clinic everyday to get it checked. It was 151/110, now around 125-130/90. Different machines so it may be that.

Don't know if the 151 was accurate either actually, although high bp is in the family.

I don't think it works that quick

Yes maybe different machines etc

They say 3-4 weeks

Side effects of Amlodinpine for me swelling in ankles

I find Valsartan better

Thanks, I will keep an eye out for swelling, nothing yet as I balance my laptop on one leg🙂.

I can usually feel when my bp is higher by feeling the artery behind my left ear (Carotid?) if it is pulsing very hard, it is high (duh), but if it isn't, then its ok. I will do breathing exercises to bring it down, so maybe that's why it is down?

Anyway I appreciate the reply and hopefully it will be fine. The only other medicine I take is Metformin for my A1c, that has worked well.

Please dont listen to a word the poster GeorgeGeorgia says. He is simply a hypochondriac looking for an audience.

I take Felopine and Lanzaar for high BP. But only every other day as I exercise daily with at least 14,000 steps done. 12 years now and my BP is constant at 125/90.

Have you tried half dose everyday, as most meds are made for folks heavier than healthy people, and half may be better (constant level) instead of every other day.   Just a thought, try for a week / 10 days, and check BP levels, maybe better.

Thought about it. But over the 8 years I have done constant exercise I have had nary a problem one. I asked my doctor about it and he simply said, stick with what is working so well.  Thanks.

Blood pressure is nothing but a pain + the pills not really any help

next month will be 33 years given /taken Atenetol 50 MG mornings  so say all OK fast forward 2015 Dr said must change to newer drugs, next 5 years a number of different ones = most had bad side effects + little change in reading resting BP numbers

2000 new Dr = back to   Atenetol 50 MG mornings + GPO HTCZ 25 mg  Evenings

September this year change  Atenetol 50 MG mornings + another 50 mg  Evenings

Monday change again  Atenetol 50 MG mornings + 100MG Losartan   [ Eye Dr in 2002 said Losartan not good for the eyes] !!??

6 days later = BP is still around the same 180/75

As it has been for years, can be as high as 215/101  or as low as 130.62   never know from one day to the next what my resting BP will be

So, I have have been using the medication below for over 8 years now (keeps me totally dialed in for BP).  I had not too high, high blood pressure, when I read a medical report about a 600 subject test on using low doses of 3 common, off-patent, blood pressure control medicines (each does a different thing).  The results were dramatic and repeated in tests more than once since the initial one.  The reason you probably not heard of the cheap "Triple Pill" for BP is that there was no way for pharm companies to make a killing on it as you would just be re-packaging the off-patent medicines.  Only recently has the US approved of a triple pill that uses 2 out of the 3 medicines I'm taking with the 3rd one being an analog (does the same thing) of my 3rd medicine but is still on patent.

I can get the lowest full doses directly from my local Thai pharmacy and then pill cut them in half.  Take 1x per day when getting my morning coffee down.  Inexpensive and has worked for me.  Also taking 5mg of generic Thai Cialis daily for BPH, seems to work just fine as long as I don't drink too much alcohol every day (a trigger for me).  I have had no side noticeable affects whatsoever at these dosages.  So far, I have not seen the single "triple pill" available in Thailand yet.

I am not a doctor, please consult your doctor before taking any of the below medicines.

telmisartan (20 mg),

amlodipine (2.5 mg)

chlorthalidone (12.5 mg) blood pressure

Tadalafil 5mg for BPH

250 mg is not TRT it is doping.

I thought that was just me. Tiger pints seemed to work on Sunday as I could not hear my heartbeat with my head on the pillow.

I do take mine every morning -  Tuesday = the main Hospital Nurse calls 1st takes BP -   Last Tuesday 134/72  - yesterday 184/91  That is with extra meds !!   [Nurse comes every day for past 11 months, just the Hospital Nurse in Hospital car comes Tuesday also for past 11 months]

as my Machine lives on the table the Nurse uses her own machine than retries again if very high reading with my machine  = more or less the same reading

Maybe you have inherited poor genes.

Anyway, When you return to Pattaya, come visit me. I will prepare a regime of exercise and a diet for you so that you can remove all medications in your life.

I do not take any medication, or supplements.

I am fit and healthy, I mostly eat natural foods, unprocessed.

Life is good.
