Life In The Uk Test

Featured Replies

Anyone know someone studying/taken the test ? My wife unfortunatly failed first time, got another one next week. She has been learning from a practise questions book.Managed to memorise 99% of the 200 questions, but due to the different wording of questions in the real test she failed. Her english is not fluent and it will take years by the other route of taking english lessons at college( which now are not free anymore ).

Luckily she has already got leave to remain, she is trying to gain citizenship.I feel sorry for people who have to go through this just to gain right to live with family.

I dont belive fluent reading/writing should be a requirement to live in UK.The test has been made far too difficult, and its been proven that joe bloggs on the street in England would never pass. The fee has doubled for citizenship to a massive 655 pounds.

By the way the first life in the uk test(book 1) has been extended until September 15,so arrange test now,or have to do the much more difficult book 2 after that.

Do a search on this forum for life in the UK test.

There have been several threads in regard to the test, it's prompt introduction without much notice and the cost of Citizenship, as well as banal and confusing questions.

It is my opinion that with continuous revising, test and help by you she will pass.

But she will have to do the hard yards to do, how hard will be a little dependent on her grasp on the Language.

To answer your question, the wife passed it last year.

Good Luck
