Americans Begin New Year Without Affordable Healthcare

You don't understand. The US medical system is deliberately overpriced and extortionate in order to benefit the wealthy. No other Western country does that.

In other countries, people evaluate the evidence and change their minds when required.

MAGA-types are bigots who just repeat their silly dogma and get angry when they are shown to be wrong.

How does high medical costs benefit the rich citizens? They have to pay too, just like any other citizen on a medical plan.

Good luck in finding any data to back up that ridiculous claim.

They ended last year without affordable healthcare. Something they haven't had since the Obama administrations, over 15 yrs ago. What's new ?

One of the reasons, I'm wouldn't return to USA, and staying right here. Getting sick there, bankrupts people, whether you have healthcare insurance or not.

The illegals in MN are the only ones with "affordable health care."

The dems wrote and passed Obamacare with zero votes from the Republicans. Obama has not delivered. The program has failed.

What racism?

A very expensive failure because of all the fraud.

LOL. Does this mean those millions of criminals living in the USA illegally will have to pay for their own healthcare now? I sure hope so.

Well said.

I'd reverse that, Blue Balls. Only corporations, companies, shell companies, offshore companies, business owners, administrative staff earning more than $100k a year should be taxed. Those taxes should go to social services.

In fact, I'd like to see a tax system where the taxpayer could choose what they are willing to pay for. For example, I would not pay for any military expenditure or corollary purchases. Nor would I pay for prisons. We might get a just society out of this.

what a crock of B/S !

Obama's aca totally devasted the US healthcare

You are not following.

High medical costs benefit the corporations and execs in that domain. Example for review:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UnitedHealth_Group

The US is unique in the West in that it allows the rampant profiteering by cartels and monopolies, to the detriment of citizens. Medicine is one such domain - there are many others.

Example: School sports were once run to benefit students. Now they are run to profit private equity.

https://www.levernews.com/wall-street-is-paywalling-your-kids-sports/

Education in other Western countries is designed to benefit the students and society - who doesn't want a smarter population?

Answer: American plutocrats. For-profit institutions ruin the finances of students for decades, and enrich a subset of the ultra-wealthy.

Why does "quality health Care" cost so much more in the United States than in other developed Nations yet it has worse outcomes?

Massive liabilty insurance costs I would expect.

Them yankee's sure love to sue.

Then tax to pay for the costs, not roll back taxes on the wealthy/corporations ...

I agree with you. Unfortunately, the federal government always gets blamed even when the tax burden is really the direct result of the city, county and state policies. For example, New York City residents must pay a municipal income tax in addition to state and federal taxes. An incompetent governor can waste hundreds of millions of dollars on state health spending mismanagement, but the federal government gets the blame. The feds are already paying for Medicare and Medicaid programs. It is at the state and county level, that the general waste occurs and the inability to care for local residents is most evident. If the states taxed at a rate appropriate to cover the necessary services, the federal government would not have to shoulder the burden of filling gaps. Local residents are great practitioners of NIMBY, demanding white glove service, but not wanting to pay for it.
