Carmen Coming To Town

Featured Replies

In case you missed it in the Bangkok Post, this year's opera at the Thai Cultural Center will be Carmen, on September 10 and 11. Also showing (Sep 8 and 12) will be Stravinsky's ballet-cum-opera The Fairy's Kiss. :o

Thanx for the info.

What's the tickets price like? For Carmen.

Explorer :o

Do you whether it is a touring company or a Thai production?? (Carmen that is)

Might date me a bit but I remember seeing the movie starring Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge. Magic stuff, and magic music.

The publicity blurb says: "Performed by 200 dancers, musicians and singers of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, with stunning decorations and costumes."

Apparently this opera company is highly regarded and won an award for this production in 2002. The production is updated to the 1930s.

Agreed.
