There is one about 15 minute walk from our condo. I don't usually walk in that direction on that side of the street. When I do and I see it I'm like oh well McDonald's forgot all about it... I'm guessing it does a huge business late at night when everybody's drunk. It's near a number of huge massage places and a few large Thai pubs

I wouldn't walk 15 minutes for chain fast food, maybe a food court or mall if I lived near one. I can make a meal faster and better, or ask the wife to 🙄

Apart from the eradication of street food, Prayuth's "bringing happiness to the people" edicts were coincident with a rapid expansion of 7-eleven franchises, selling CP Alls growing range of microwave-ready Thai meals. This saw the demise of the smaller, mom and pop, walk-in and/or takeaway restaurant business. Covid was the proverbial nail but we won't blame his government for that.

It's all about social engineering of the many by the few.
