Was very pleasant last night and I'd take a Nana Burger over a McD every time.

Indeed. But as the poster described it as "at Soi 8" I was wondering if there was actually another new one.

Sorry, you are right.

I'm not surprised at all.

Foreigners don't eat Thai food despite it being absolutely delicious and 60% of the cost of a meal of junk food.

Even the adventurous ones at Terminal are eating crap like pineapple fried rice.

Why isn't it 11?

No doubt they are busy, but as a city that is based on tourism - surely that is an awful ugly image. Was there a need for them to open a new one, when the other is literally yards away.

I know some cities ban or put limits on big corporations opening up, and allow locals to run dining.

When they are busy, then there is a need.

I don't eat that crap but there is a need.

Not saying there is not a need. But there is already 3 literally a few hundred yards away from one another.

Considering how some thai restaurants ripp off foreigners and tourists, not surprising to see more and more tourists catering at Burger King or McDonald's. Mainly in Hua Hin.

Restaurants are scamming tourists ? How ... ?

Is it the TAX and service charge malarky ?

I say it constantly

Foreigners do not like nor eat Thai food. Many cannot take the least bit of spice.

Thai food is 65% less expensive and 5x more delicious than bachelor pub grub

I eat at a random Bangkok food court daily and have done so for years. Never been ripped off.

They get ripped off because they choose a suspect business always located in tourist traps.

Pineapple fried rice

Fried chicken

Boiled chicken over rice

Phad Thai

This is not Thai food

Problem with food courts is the food is cooked earlier in the day, or the day before, and just left out there, then reheated. I've seen them pack the food up at night, and then just lay it back out first thing in the morning - as tourists come salivate thinking it's fresh.

Unless you know of a court that cooks the food on the spot.

All without exception have made to order food. 90% of time I eat made to order. There's also nothing wrong with getting the prepared food. When I'm super hungry I go for this option because they really heap it on.

Absolutely, definitely not made the day before if by that you mean 24 hours and as long as it's hygienic so what...it's so cheap and still relatively tasty

You've got it entirely ass backwards. Made to order is the standard

What food court are you going to ??

I'm talking about these popular food courts that the hipsters always go on about. The food is prepered earlier in the day (or even earlier) and then just reheated.

Nonsense. I'm not stating that a few vendors don't do this. But it's the style of the hawkers food. The vast majority of food is prepared on site and immediately. This goes for everything from phad kaprow, noodles, etc

ALL

Every food court on the Blue Line including Terminal 21.

From T21 to Central lad prao by my count that's about 12 food courts. I eat in them all

Tesco food court On Nut

I've never been to a food courts in Emporium or any of those new malls on Sukhumvit, but I'm certain this is even more true in fancy upscale malls

ALL

You obviously don't eat in food courts.

Nana Burger is great and the floor show is fabulous

As a rule I don't eat fast food, but when I used to do business in Krabi, I would stay at a bungalow place across from MickieD's Ao Nang.

Morningtime I'd go in there for their coffee. Best 35thb coffee in Ao Nang.

During my first trip to Thailand in 1979 there were exactly zero US fast food chains in LOS. Lots of Thai curry stalls all over Bangkok with huge portions for 5 Baht. Noodle soups were two Baht.

There already was a Dunkin Donuts at SIAM square. They arrived years before the hamburger joints made an appearance.

I do remember than Dunkin Donuts. There was one in Banglamphu also. A&W, KFC, Pizza Hut old school BKK fast food as well

I've never eaten at McDonald's Thailand in 35 years of coming and going

Meh....

Food courts are largely made to order. There are many hawkers with prepared foods in pans or stewed pork...but the real standard is made to order.

There's always 1-2 hawkers that do pans as was stated and when super hungry and less picky I go to them.

If you become a regular they'll get your order just right.

He's correct 💯

❤️ Thai Food Courts

No idea about social media idiots.

Stir frying a egg on re-used oil or minced pork with already cooked rice, calling it made to order as if it resembles more proper food is overreacting 5X. Is like stating breakfast was made to order for you because someone put manually the toast in a toaster machine.

I couldn't say as I haven't been in that neck of the woods for quite some time. However, I was under the impression that both Foodlands on Soi 5 and the one on Soi 16 (?) near Asoke both still had the restaurants.

Simultaneously, the one at Soi 5 seems to have been reduced in size.

Shame the girls haven't?

I only count 2 within walking distance of Nana Plaza (210 & 240m). And 2 within walking distance of Nana BTS (120 & 200m).

And that's a stretch, as what idiot is going to walk more than 200m for McD's. Way too other food & burger options available, within those 200m, to venture further. Not much further, and anything you desire is available, so McD's would be last place I'd consider eating at, even if I thought their burger were close to a value.

Last 15 yrs, few times I did hit McD's it was for breakfast items. And they were recent when O&A, as walking distance from charging the car.

So unless they make you fresh rice at the time you order, it's not made to order? Where are you going that's doing that? You must be used to long waits if that's the case.

You don't understand Thailand, Thai food or Thai food courts. You use these excuses as defense for not eating Thai food.

Farang simply do not like or can eat Thai food.

I often think... what if like 30 yrs ago bread wasn't available. You'd all be gone. How unfortunate
