Iran Threatens Mass Executions, Warns Of ‘All-Out War’ If US Intervenes

Iran has threatened to resume mass executions of protesters and warned that any US military intervention would trigger “all-out war,” as the regime escalates a brutal crackdown on a nationwide uprising.

Tehran claims thousands have died as security forces unleashed live ammunition, military-grade weapons and mass arrests to crush dissent. While Iranian officials acknowledge around 5,000 deaths, a new report suggests the real toll may be far higher — between 16,500 and 18,000 killed, with most victims believed to be under 30.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has blamed the bloodshed on US- and Israel-backed “terrorists,” declaring protesters guilty of “Moharebeh” — waging war against God — a charge that carries the death penalty under Iran’s Islamic law.

Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir confirmed that executions remain on the table, just days after President Donald Trump said Iran had paused the hanging of more than 800 detainees following US pressure.

Among those spared was Erfan Soltani, 26, who was given just ten minutes to say goodbye to his family before being taken away for execution. Human rights groups later confirmed he was still alive.

Trump has warned that the US would intervene militarily if executions resume and has already moved American military assets — including an aircraft carrier — into the region. However, no formal strike order has been issued.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded with a stark warning, saying any attack on Iran’s leadership would be treated as a declaration of war against the nation.

The uprising began in late December over economic collapse and spiralled into nationwide protests across all 31 provinces. Authorities responded with mass arrests — 24,000 detained — an internet blackout and a campaign of terror aimed at silencing the population.
