Clinton Accuses Trump Of Lies After Federal Agents Kill Nurse

Former President Bill Clinton has launched a blistering attack on the Trump administration, accusing officials of lying to the American public after federal immigration agents shot and killed two Minneapolis residents.

In a searing statement released Sunday, Clinton condemned what he called “horrible scenes” unfolding in Minneapolis, saying he never believed such events could happen in the United States.

“People, including children, have been seized from their homes, workplaces, and the street by masked federal agents,” Clinton said. “Peaceful protesters and citizens exercising their constitutional rights have been arrested, beaten, teargassed — and most searingly — shot and killed.”

Clinton specifically named Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both 37, who were fatally shot this month during federal immigration enforcement operations. Pretti, an intensive care nurse at a VA hospital, was legally licensed to carry a firearm.

The Department of Homeland Security claims agents fired “defensive shots,” alleging Pretti was armed and resisted arrest. But that account has been challenged by witnesses and video footage, which appears to show Pretti holding his phone — not a gun — as he recorded the operation moments before he was shot.

“To make matters even worse, the people in charge have lied to us,” Clinton said. “They’ve told us not to believe what we’ve seen with our own eyes while escalating aggressive tactics and blocking local investigations.”

The shootings have intensified scrutiny of the Trump administration’s expanded immigration enforcement push, with civil liberties groups accusing federal agents of excessive force and constitutional violations.

Clinton urged Americans not to accept the erosion of civil liberties, warning the country is at a historic crossroads.

“If we give our freedoms away after 250 years, we might never get them back,” he said, calling on citizens to “stand up, speak out, and reclaim American democracy.”

Perhaps, Bill is a bit motivated by his own problems with Congress.
