There is another sentence the you can speak equally.

ชั้นนี้เสียงดัง(มาก) เราขึ้นไปข้างบนอีกชั้นได้ไหมครับ

Chun nee siang dung (mak). Rao kheun pai kang bon eek chun dai mai krab

doesnt kang mean outside? and bon means on?

so how does outside-on equate to the next floor? thanks.

Kang doesnt mean outiside but means side.

And why we say kang-bon for next floor, I have no idea about that.

Maybe the next person might can explain :o

as we said...kang means 'side'

bon means on the top...

for on the next floor up....it should have been 'chan kang bon'

but you know us thai...we're lazy :o ....therefore it is understood in the context that kang bon means 'floor above'
