March 3Mar 3 Over the year my attic insulation as fallen apart. The foil has deteriorated and all the insulation is just loose. I need to replace with new, but question is do I need to remove all the loose insulation first? or just cover over it?
March 3Mar 3 Yes, any bad insulation needs to go as it will further deteriorate and cause more problems down the road.

March 3Mar 3 Rip out the old insulation and put in a radiant heat barrier. Works a lot better. Insulation is great in cold climates but actually a detriment in hot ones.
