Locals Call for Action on Nude Sunbathing at Rawai Beach

Featured Replies

Thais only accept nudity if it is convenient for them... In several gogo bars no problem, but in a private resort or a difficult to reach beach they are upset eve about bikinis???? I know Thai people hate to get tanned and swimming in t shirts and long shorts, but they don't understand that many European or Russian people hardly see the sun in their country or only for a few months, so they will enjoy it here... Maybe it is a new market for TAT to promote FKK beaches and clubs...

For nearly a year, individuals have frequented the beach to sunbathe nude or in bikinis, most often from afternoon to evening.

Individuals sunbathing in bikinis?? 🫨

I'm truly shocked, and so is Queen Victoria! 😆

Exposed genitalia in public probably.

Why do they do this?

If there is action, then there is a reason.

But, if no action, then no reason.

"safeguard Phuket’s tourism reputation."

That is the main problem.

Word gets out about naked foreigners on the beach is going to boost local tourism.

In northern California seeing cars filled with teenage Asian boys on an ogling excursion of the nude beaches is a fairly usual sight.

until any photos or video is presented, this is all hearsay

If there is no reason why take any action?

I could, and will add, just like Trump in Iran!

I see Thai cultural norms every night on the GoGo bar stages in Pattaya and Bangkok...

That's true.

Cultural norms are, er... flexible in the face of certain other con$id€rations.

What if those Thais wanted to use that public beach non-nude as they are entitled to do?

I have gone to scores of nude beaches all over the world and every single one of them was clothing optional. On Wreck Beach at the foot of the cliffs below UBC, we used to have fully clothed guys in shiny shoes walking the beach furtively ogling the women. Know what? Nobody gave a rat's ass.

So please, Thais, come and join us. It's a beautiful spot, if hard to get to.

The juvenile comments in this thread are despicable. You'd think people only got naked for sex. In 70 years of nude beaches, I have never seen a single sexual overture, let alone act. Sniggering is juvenile.
