Are you seriously saying you don't think there is a comparison?

That is exactly what the IHRA is saying and I agree with its working definition of antisemitism. No comparison at all.

Open your eyes, take your blinkers off and stop listening to CIA propaganda. Most normal Yanks are totally against the Israel and US aggression.

My eyes are wide open and I don't get my information from CIA propoganda. While sympathy for Israel has decreased among Americans in recent years, most "normal Yanks" are not against Israel.

Take a look at this recent poll from Gallup:

Israelis No Longer Ahead in Americans' Middle East Sympathies

Israel still viewed more favorably; support for two-state solution highest since 2003

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Forty-one percent of Americans now say they sympathize more with the Palestinians in the Middle East situation, while 36% sympathize more with the Israelis.

...

In the past year, Americans’ favorability toward Israel has declined, while their view of the Palestinian Territories has improved. Still, Americans retain a more positive view of Israel, with 46% viewing it favorably, than of the Palestinian Territories, at 37%.

You are an odd one, especially as your not a Jew.

I am someone who strongly supports the right of Jews to have Israel as their homeland and to live there securely. I know that makes me odd in the eyes of antisemites.

Ireland just needs to be settled like the West Bank and Gaza and all will be well. Send the antisemitic goyim to America - problems solved.

If anything makes me anti-Semitic it's hearing crap like this. Boo-hoo poor Jews go bullied. Never mind actual Irish people and all the problems they're facing day to day lets focus on some tiny min

The Irish had the Blueshirts. When people say the Jewish population has declined, they forget it never amounted to much in the first place. The Jewish population peaked about 1911, at about 5000 peop

The label antisemite used to be a slur. It is now becoming a badge of honour and decency.

I never thought I would be reading in the year 2026 that antisemite is "becoming a badge of honor and decency." I believed we had come further than that.

@1tooth You need to think about the enormity of what you wrote. Below are some of the individuals who proudly wore or wear the badge of antisemitism. Do you want to be counted among them?

They dont care, they are just social media warriors that wouldnt pull the trigger unless it was on a kid. All Jews in America should arm themselves regardless. just for the occasional loon who leaves mommys basement to injure his betters,

I do not agree with the IHRA definition of antisemitism, I prefer the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism (JDA 2021) drafted by over 200 scholars of antisemitism or USA's Nexus Document (2021).

With all that has been done & continues to be done in Gaza, I don't feel it is antisemitic to compare Israel's action in Gaza to to Nazi Germany's actions and both JDA & Nexus agree.

Additionally, a grave mistake was made in the 1940's and it needs some form of compromise, again that is not antisemitism. Jews have the right to Israel as their homeland and to live there securely, BUT NOT exclusively, Palestinians also have that right and the land should be shared.

That is one person. What about the other 799? Do you feel your friend would deserve to be harassed or assaulted because he donates to Israel?

I am comparing donations to charities in Israel to charities in Gaza. That's a direct, head-on comparison.

If he is still donating to Israel, yes, there are consequences.

Israel needs no donations, you are paying with your US taxes, as AIPAC controls the US. Totally different.

Like every other country in the world, Israel has a need for charities. My favorite charity is Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces. https://www.fidf.org/

It's nonsense to claim the American Israel Public Affairs Committee controls the U.S. AIPAC is an influential and effective lobbying group on behalf of Israel, but it wields no actual power. There are other lobby groups which are much more powerful.

To say AIPAC controls the U.S. is antisemitism straight out of the pages of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/protocols-of-the-elders-of-zion

Such claims reflect a fear of a Jewish conspiracy than is totally out of step with reality. They also go way beyond criticism of Zionism and the state of Israel to encompass all Jews.
