Low Libido Testosterone Replacement

Featured Replies

Due to my new relationship, I started taking testosterone and B12 shots today. Apparently, there will be a new spring in my walk by Saturday. I will report back.

Is anyone else taking this supplement? Is anyone else doing anything to preserve or enhance their libido?

Many people here have generously shared that the bloom is definitely off the rose in their long-term relationships.

How do you maintain this aspect of keeping your relationship healthy?

Do you notice any difference in dealing with keeping the fire going here compared to back home?

Any side effects?

Long term effect?

And when you stop the treatment?

Side effects are minimal, and the pre-consultation was very thorough, accompanied by a blood test.

The long-term effect is that your body stops making its own testosterone. Therefore, getting off of it requires some stepping down and dosage overtime and a period of readjustment, which will include a lot of fatigue and some weight gain.

The longer you are on it, the longer the step down period would be to get off of it. So it’s like weight loss drugs in that you should really do your research before buying into it.

But as long as you have 12,000 baht a month, you could stay on it forever with no real downside

Hair loss not a side effect? I thought it was

12k a month ?

It's 280 baht for 250ml from fascino pharmacy.

Then 100 baht for a nurse to inject at a medical clinic.

You can get your own blood test done

Do not expect any change within a few days. It usually takes weeks for slow positive effects to appear. And 12,000 Baht per month are ridiculous, you are ripped off.

It’s great to get a range of experiences here.

12 K seems to be the Bangkok price after calling a couple of places. It’s for 2 shots a week. I am told I will notice the difference by Saturday.

I would not feel confident to diagnose the amount I need and inject myself. Also, I am happy to pay a premium to ensure that I am getting a quality product.

The doctor at the clinic said that hair loss is only at extremely high doses. I’m going to be on a very low dose.

Zinc and Vitamin C helps more than B

It figures that you have low T.

Dog boy, it’s who you are. It’s what you do.

It’s why you are detested here and treated like a laughing stock dog that you are.

You have turned into an old bitter hag. No kids, no wife and no life. Asking strangers to help you get it up. How sad.

I’ll look back in in a couple of days and let you continue to just dribble all over another thread that people might find useful.

Meat and seafood contains b12.Two cups of cows milk contains the daily allowance of b12. 1 egg contains 25%. Soy milk is fortified with it. Makes no sense to get b12 shots.

I was diagnosed with low testosterone in my late teens. It's a genetic thing - my father also had low T.

In the 1990's I had T slow release tabs place under the skin near my kidneys. It seemed to work and I fathered 4 kids :)

In later years in Thailand I self-injected testosterone a few times each week, (after having had blood tests and medical consultancy etc). I had no problems to self-administer these injections and I certainly felt more 'alive'.

Around 2023 I stopped the injections because I had suspected prostate cancer, and testosterone can encourage cancer cell growth. Happily, the cancer scare turned out to be benign calcium stones in my prostate.

I'm coming to Bangkok this Aturday. Perhaps I should purchase some more T ampoules again to give myself more energy at almost 67 years old.

Doe anyone know a shop to purchase Bayer or similar T ampoules in Bangkok?

I'm not bothered about sexual libido, since I keep any apparent romantic approaches from females at arm's length - why on Earth would a pretty female be interested in a 66 year old guy if not for $$$ lol?

What planet are you living on? 250mg ampule of Testoviron costs ฿235 at my pharmacy. You're getting taken to the cleaners.

Personally I don't use testosterone as my T levels for a guy in his 70s are good at around 580ng/Dl. My primary issue is with free T which is a bit low due to higher levels of SHBG. I've ordered some Boron supplements to see if I can decrease the level of SHBG which binds to testosterone and get more free T in my system. I lift weights about 5 times a week as I've got my own home gym.

I take vitamin B12 and give myself injections. Free. Use 24 or 25 gauge needles and it's painless. If you're taking T, inject yourself. It's not rocket science.

It makes plenty of sense to take B12 shots as you age. When you get older, you may be eating what seem to be sufficient amount of B12, but the gut in aging people becomes less efficient in utilizing it. Vitamin B12 is primarily absorbed in the small intestine, specifically in the distal ileum, after it binds to a protein called intrinsic factor in the stomach. Older folk don't necessarily absorb it from eating it. Shots are a good prophylaxis. I shoot up a 1ml ampule once a month even though I eat seafood, meats, milk and eggs. If you're uncertain about giving yourself shots, hire a nurse to train you. Or look it up online.

First, you may want to get a simply blood test, to see if any issue is testosterone level related. I think it was a 150 THB (?) add on 3+ years back, when getting my blood tests.

Should read something like this, if in normal range, as I am ...

I go to CMF Labs in Chiang Mai. I'll check my own blood-work a couple of time a year including Free T.
It helps to be able to read Thai https://cmflabchiangmai.com/th

I could go to the local hospital and wait, and then go back to get the lab results (two hospital visits and a lot of waiting), but I pay the extra money to get the tests done in 5 minutes at CMF Labs and have the results send to me via email. Time is money.

Correct! Hence the growth of "men's health" clinics in Bangkok and Pattaya, who provide the initial blood tests etc (which mainstream doctors might not be knowledgable about), and then charge a fortune to provide the actual medication! The solution is to pay for the initial health check, then take the medication prescription to a pharmacy....

If he get two blood panel tests a month, and two injections, it is not that bad actually.

Blood panel tests 2 x 4 500,- baht ?

Dr/specialist 2 x 1250,- baht ?

Testosteron 2 x 250?

I would be careful to call it out as a scam for one novise to TRT, and specialists do look at the whole picture, with some special markers. You are free to choose what you want, but for other people, it is vise to start the way he do! After 6 months you start making blood panel tests every 3 months, and after a year every 6 months ?

Vitamin B12 nasal sprays are a non-invasive, highly effective alternative to oral tablets and painful intramuscular injections, especially for those with severe absorption challenges

What "painful intramuscular injections?" Unless you're a needle adverse pussy, if you're using 24 or 25 gauge needles, they don't hurt. They also can be injected subdermal which don't hurt at all. Oral tablets share the same problem as eating vitamin B12 foods. Your gut may be unable to absorb the vitamins. Don't get me wrong, the nasal spray no doubt works.

However pricing: per dose shots average about 25 THB as compared to 50 to 200 THB per dose for vitamin B12 prescription nasal spray. If you have money to burn, I guess no problem.

Nasal sprays are the future. Needles make people feel like a junky.

Been on it a week.

Maybe 15% more energy, and 20% more oomph in the bedroom. Sleep seems a bit better, no hair loss.

Currently in Sidney, seeing GF’s daughter, rubbing a little gel on every morning in leu of the shot.

Had a triple header yesterday. Prob more down to new relationship energy then the TRT.

Verdict: will stay on it.

i wonder in trials whether placebo had an improvement also

A lot of the comments here are along the same lines as that hectoring dimwit endlessly demanding to know why I have a trainer.

Just watch YouTube’s. Why not just do jumping jacks in my hotel room?

It’s a service. Tailored to me. That costs something.

Might I eventually fire everyone including my maid and do every last thing stoically on my own?

Sure, maybe.

But it’s great to outsource thinking about and just show up and have someone else keep track of my life.

  • Author

Yeah, I wonder about the placebo effect too.

I do feel a bit altered. Time will tell.

As time goes on, the effects are supposed to become more pronounced.

I'm at 287 ng/dL. Only 64 years old this year. Over the past 4 years, my libido has dropped and is now on holiday. Seems my dad was the same so perhaps genetic factors in play. Been taking tongkat ali for about 3 months now, but no discernable improvement. I am not overweight and workout regularly. Not had a free testosterone test yet as no clinics nearby offer such service. Also, umming and arring whether to go the TRT route due to potential side effects.

  • Author

I am a 10 weeks now. Definitely have more muscle, more energy, more sex drive.

No bad side effects at all.

Another benefit of going to a clinic and paying more than grubbily searching for a bootleg testosterone at out-of-the-way drugstores, is that you get a monthly blood test with a full read out that the doctor then goes over with you.

I go to maximum clinic near my house on Soi 33. Might be worth a look for you.

I avoid this thread, and any other that has the retard sniffing my butt over and over again, but I peaked in here and saw this and thought I’d give you the benefit of my experience
