Trump hits Kharg island ?

Featured Replies

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Friday, March 13, said the United States carried out strikes against "every military target" on Iran's Kharg Island export hub. The POTUS mentioned that the US Central Command (CENTCOM)-led attack was meant to send a warning rather than weaken Iran’s energy exports.

Following this, a rumor circulated online claiming that Trump predicted an attack on Kharg Island way back in 1988. But what's the truth behind this? Let us find out below.

Exactly. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview essentially said, "Bring it on, we'll be waiting for you."

US soldiers who don't want to die fighting a war half-way around the world and who have families and a life back in the US
VS
Iranians fighting for their homeland on their homeland and who consider the highest honor in this life is to martyr themselves to protect their country and culture.

And the US has seen this is Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan and yet the US presidents time and again do the same thing
Why? Because they consider the average US service man and women to be expendable cattle and cannon fodder to fight wars in which they themselves make millions and billions of USD in profits. That's why this s**t never ends. I'm sure Trump, his family, his friends, and connected members of Congress are going to make a killing in the war industries on the backs of the deaths of US soldiers.

Barron Trump should be in the first boat to land on Iranian soil. #DraftBarronTrump

Someone tell Trump and also tell him that half a million Iranians died in that war - he's got a lot of work ahead. Not that he will be working he will be on the golf course when US soldiers come home in body bags or limbs missing or brains scambled for life.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kharg_Island

The island was bombed in the 1980s during the Iran–Iraq War,[12] with the facilities put out of commission in the autumn of 1986. Heavy bombing of the Kharg Island facilities from 1980 to 1988 by the Iraqi Air Force during the war, destroyed most of the terminal facilities. Kharg Island is situated in the middle of the Darius Oilfield, also destroyed by the intensive bombing. Repair to all facilities was very slow, even after the war ended in 1988. In 2009, Iran exported and swapped 950 million barrels of crude oil via the southern Kharg oil terminal.[11]

I think trumps want capture kharg island for the oil income

President Donald Trump on Friday night announced that the United States had bombed Kharg Island, targeting Iran’s most critical oil terminal in an attack that Tehran has warned would mark an escalation of the conflict.

Located about 15 miles from the Iranian mainland in the Persian Gulf, Kharg Island is the centerpiece of Iran’s oil-based economy. About 90 percent of the country’s oil exports move through facilities there, and an attack could strangle what remains of Tehran’s economy — including the government’s limited ability to pay its military.

Assymetric warfare. Iran can and does hit American interests by other means. When they tried it with Saddam after 1991, Saddam lacked the imagination and global reach. America will come to an accomodation with the Mullahs; American will guarantee Iran's security and participation in world oil markets, and in return get a lucrative cut. America has no friends, only interests. There is no reason for the US to continue to be friends with the uncivilised Saudis and Gulf Arabs. Israel probably needs to learn the lesson that it only exists because of America, and it shouldn't be the tail wagging the dog.

America made friends with communist Vietnam, despite suspicions that Vietnam continued to hold and torture American POWs.

Btw, what this has done is to create the precedent for Iran to now begin bombing "every military target" occupied by US forces in the entire Middle East where the US military launches campaigns against Iran. Any country assisting the US or Israel in their unprovoked war of aggression against Iran are complicit co-belligerents and are valid targets for Iranian missiles strikes. That includes EU countries as well if Iranian missiles can reach out and touch them.
It the US blows up the oil facilities, then it create the precedent for Iran to now begin bombing "oil facility" of countries who host US and Israeli forces in the entire Middle East where the US military launches campaigns against Iran. If the US and Israel target civilian infrastructure and civilians. Well like Pete Hegseth said, "We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement, just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters."

Well, you know the drill as above: What is good for the goose is good for the gander. When you open a can of "whoop-ass" be sure not to get any on ya! thumbsup Quid Pro Quo Is a Mofo

One theory is this war is connected to the US Petro Dollar because China was starting to trade oil for Yuan with both Iran and Venezuela. So Trump is warning China to back off.

If so, this corrupt US Petro-Dollar system needs to come to an end.

Maybe it's time for a One World Global Currency.

Why doesn't Trump go to Russia and take their oil by force?
They have nukes.

So, what do you think is Iran's next step will be to keep the US from stealing its oil? Even Brazil and Turkey and now consider nukes in the arsenal. Why?

It keeps the US from invading. I imagine every country in the world who is a target for US aggression is probably consider how to put nukes into the arsenal.

This is the can of worms that Trump just opened.

The US empire is falling. But like a dying elephant, it can thrash a lot of grass and do massive damage in its death throes.

War may very well be a sign of desperation.

But then again, they've been waging wars for a long time and the Empire hasn't fallen yet.

It can also just be maintaining dominance and not letting other countries like China overtake them.

Dominating the world militarily is one thing; domination the world economically is another. Aiming your military at a country who outperforms you economically is immaturity to the extreme and in the case of aiming it at China, will cause a world war that I doubt the US will win. In fact, no one will win. Humanity in its entirety will lose. All because the US is a butt-hurt little b**** who can't compete in the global market.
China makes physical objects; the US makes financial derivatives. The US sent its manufacturing base to China - It's no wonder the US can't compete.

Not the way Trump is driving the USA into multiple wars that may well require the draft!

Their gdp is growing at 3%. The top 500 companies generate massive profits. Apple is worth more than the whole of Laos.

The UK is dying as is most of europe hence they want the US to help Ukraine because they are weak. The UK navy is now piss weak.

The day so far

Here’s the latest on the US-Israel war on Iran, and the widening crisis it has caused across the Middle East.

Donald Trump has said the United States may carry out more strikes on a vital Iranian oil export hub “just for fun”, rejecting the prospect of a swift peace deal with Tehran. He claimed that US strikes had “totally demolished” most of Kharg Island.

The US makes money from every single online transaction in the world. Time to break that monopoly.

A.I says

"This claim is not literally true, though the U.S. dollar's role as the primary global reserve currency means the U.S. does financially benefit from a large portion of international transactions. The U.S. government does not receive fees from every online transaction, but rather from those involving USD clearing, US-based financial institutions, or starting in 2026, specific cash-based international remittances."

Where did I say "US government". Share your sources, rather than relying on illusionary AI. Even so, the US government makes money from the activity of US companies through something called corporation tax.

Even the illusion of a “national” internet economy collapses under scrutiny. The global digital marketplace runs on American rails. The payment network is overwhelmingly controlled by Visa or Mastercard, the checkout may pass through processors like PayPal or Stripe, and the platforms hosting the transaction are frequently owned by firms such as Amazon, Google, or Apple. Even the servers behind the scenes are commonly rented from infrastructure giants like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft. Each layer takes a cut.

Even in China, dominated by Alibaba or Tencent, international transactions, foreign card acceptance, software dependencies, and global financial clearing still brush up against American-controlled systems somewhere along the chain. The uncomfortable conclusion is that in the architecture of modern online commerce, it is extraordinarily difficult for a digital payment to occur anywhere on earth without some American entity, somewhere in the stack, taking a cut.

Even when remittances are cash-based, the system often still runs through American-linked infrastructure. The world’s largest money-transfer networks—such as Western Union and MoneyGram—are U.S. companies that built the global agent networks allowing someone to hand over cash in one country and have it paid out as cash in another. Behind these transfers, the settlement frequently moves through U.S. dollar clearing and correspondent banking relationships tied to major American financial institutions, and messaging or compliance processes may rely on global financial infrastructure such as SWIFT, which operates under strong U.S. regulatory influence. As a result, even when a migrant worker physically hands over banknotes at a local counter and the recipient collects cash on the other side of the world, the transaction is often routed, cleared, insured, or regulated through systems in which U.S. firms or the U.S. financial system play a central role—meaning that even the most “cash” form of international money transfer still tends to touch American financial architecture somewhere along the chain.

But I get the impression you are one of these hard left people in favour of a North Korean hermit state lifestyle, where you can draw up the bridges, and establish a nationalist workers paradise, without caring about the outside world at all. I'm more of a free trade conservative Thatcherite type of person myself.
