$200 Oil No Longer Crazy Idea as Middle East Supply Collapses

Featured Replies

  • Middle East oil exports and production have collapsed, removing over 7–10 million bpd from global supply and creating a severe physical shortage.

  • Tight supply and limited storage mean prices could surge to $150–$200+ per barrel, with some analysts warning of extreme spikes if disruptions persist.

  • Even if the conflict ends, recovery will be slow, and temporary relief won’t fully offset the shortage, keeping prices elevated.

up. !

300 oil pls, so cad can go up 1 baht

We may or may not see $200 oil, but what does seem quite likely is that high energy prices will remain for a long time.

Iran is busy striking production facilities for Gulf oil and gas. Damage to these facilities takes time to repair, and while under repair, production is limited. Iran is trying to cause the greatest amount of pain possible with the weapons it has remaining.

Trump's response is to threaten to hit Iran's production, which would simply exacerbate the problem.

There is no easy answer once the war started. There WAS a path worth following before the war, such as negotiations to replace the nuke deal Trump quashed back in Trump 1.0. That was stupid, though typical Trump, and starting this war was stupid.

Tariffs + high energy seems to = worldwide Recession, perhaps Depression. Many people are saying nobody could eff things up for more people on this planet than Trump. Trump has a special kind of gift for effing up, whether in his casinos or dividing the nation or in causing what will be at least as bad as 2008 and maybe as bad as 1932.

When Piers Morgan one of Trumps biggest sycophants makes this comment then you know the baboon is done

Seriously any Americans on this board need to act along with fellow nationals to remove this utter lunatic at the earliest opportunity

Too late. They stepped in it by failing to heed the lessons of Trump 1.0.

Agreed they and him are totally unhinged

Let's face it. Due to international sanctions, Iran's economy was in shambles. Even before the war.

But still, a country that is economically "finished", manages to put the world economy and neighboring states in "dire straits".

Food for thaught for the "superpowers" of the world.
