Has Phuket/Pattaya become the Tenerife of Asia

Featured Replies

Not a day goes by without waking up to tens of news reports depicting violent and erratic behavior of foreigners, worse than Tenerife in it's heyday. All nationalities, and all young budding Muay Thai boxers showing off their super strength. Of course any one remember doing Muay Thai 20 years ago will know these babies couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag, a few hours and they are experts. Nothing like an hour of training and then getting stoned moving on to the inevitable fighting cos their brains are mushed up. Thailand needs to take a long look at itselfe, of course it's all about money with the thousands of "training camps' opening up and the easy visa available. Where will it all end?

Yes, the riff raff who would normally go to magaluf, tenerife, ibiza are now turning up in Pattaya and Phuket. I reckon instead they should go to Kuta Bali and fight it out with the aussie bogans

It's ages that I was in Tenerife and other Canary islands but I would also be surprised if it's that bad.

Canary islands are not that cheap like the Mediterranean

Phuket beaches and bars definitely sound a little reminiscent of tennerife but I have yet to see the long lines of tourists that got ripped off by the Nigerian track team at night.

From reading online Tenerife has gotten worse. Pattaya and Phuket have functioning police and at least most of the issues seem to get resolved

Lately the police have gone AWOl, rarely see them, in the daily videos they never feature, personally i think they've had enough and just avoid and deal with the fallout the following day
