Authorities were alerted on 24 March after a black bag was spotted floating in a canal parallel to the Khlong Prabha, near Saint Francis Xavier School in Ban Mai, Pak Kret district. The bag emitted a strong odour, prompting officers to call in the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and forensic experts to investigate.

Initial inspections revealed a human head wrapped in a light green towel with blue and pink patterns. Police then conducted a wider search in nearby dense undergrowth, recovering six additional bags containing body parts.

The victim was identified by her brother, Mr Dech, as his youngest sister, 20-year-old Ms Am. Speaking at the scene, he described her as gentle, polite, and devoted to her family. He expressed anguish over her death, stating, “Why must her life end like this?”

Mr Dech raised concerns about his sister’s boyfriend, known only as Mr Tom, who disappeared after taking some of her belongings and was unreachable by phone. Police reports indicate that the accused works as a chef at a local hospital. Authorities believe he may have applied skills from his occupation in the dismemberment of his girlfriend.

Thung Song Hong police reported that Mr Tom was arrested by immigration as he was trying to escape into Laos. He was taken into custody and police are conducting further questioning. Plans are underway to transfer him to Pak Kret police for a reconstruction of the crime, before the suspect is charged.

Absolutely sickening.

This young woman’s life was taken in the most callous way imaginable, and the fact that he stole her belongings and tried to flee the country makes it even more revolting.

No excuses, no sympathy, just hope justice is swift and uncompromising for someone capable of something this cruel.

Every now and then, one of these butchers pops up and commits a horrendous murder like this, they must be worse than a psychopath, and I can not imagine what they would be like to live with, a time bomb waiting to go off, probably the worst cases of mental illness that can be. I feel sorry for the victim and the hell her family will live with for the rest of their lifes, a shocking crime to say the least. He should get the death penalty, that would be a easy way out for the perp.

Just unbelievable and sickening what some human beings are capable of.

So sad.

Really down reading this and so fed up for her family.

RIP

He should get a short drop and a sudden stop... awful crime.

Time for his time to be over. Human card revoked.... straight to hell you go.

yep, he's going back to where he comes from.

I guess you have to be a pathological super freak to understand something like this, a relationship is not working out and you do what you can to try to resolve the issues, and when you come to the conclusion that it's just not going to work, real men simply move on and juvenile imbeciles hang on for dear life. Some end up committing atrocities like this one due to incredibly low self-esteem, and a total lack of pride, and likely a very faulty upbringing by people who had no idea what the art of parenting even looks like.

My heart goes out to her family, they're likely never going to fully recover from this sort of ordeal.

I doubt that some people are human, these animals should be put down.

Too bad we can't have public whippings or stonings.

How about gas or electric chair, I'd volunteer to push the button.

A Thai friend tells me he was on Yaba.

Lao Man Confesses to Girlfriend’s Dismemberment in Bangkok

Authorities have confirmed that a 24-year-old Lao man, Mr Tom, has admitted killing and dismembering his 20-year-old girlfriend, Ms Ram, in an apartment on Chaeng Watthana 14, Bangkok. The body was separated into eight black bags and disposed of in a canal and nearby grassy areas.

The case began on 24 March when Ms Ram’s brother, Mr Dech, reported her missing after she failed to return to her apartment. Officers investigating her room found a strong smell of blood and visible blood stains, prompting forensic teams to collect evidence. Police suspected the perpetrator may attempt to flee to Laos.

At around 17:30 on 24 March, immigration officials at Nong Khai intercepted Mr Tom near the border as he attempted to cross on foot. Identity checks confirmed he matched the description provided by tourism police. He was then transferred for questioning by Thung Song Hong police, the local jurisdiction for the apartment where the crime occurred.

CCTV captured the suspect carrying a bag containing body parts.

Mr Tom told investigators that he entered Thailand via Nong Khai on 19 August 2023 with a Non-L-A2 work permit and worked as a chef at a hospital, specialising in cutting meat and poultry. Ms Ram worked as a bar server in Pattaya. He claimed she wanted to end the relationship because of his violent behaviour, and he acted out of jealousy.

He admitted that on 22 March, following an argument, he killed Ms Ram in a fit of rage. He then dismembered her body using a kitchen knife, purchased black garbage bags and placed the remains into eight bags. Some were discarded in a canal near the apartment, while others were left in trash bins and nearby vegetation. Mr Tom also took 4,050 baht from Ms Ram before attempting to flee via Don Mueang Airport to Udon Thani and then toward the Lao border.

Amarin reported that authorities are continuing to investigate the case and are preparing further legal proceedings against Mr Tom. The suspect remains in custody, and police are reconstructing the crime scene to confirm the disposal of the body parts.

Good to see that police and immigration authorities were doing their job well. Plus one respect.

Her number was up the moment she met this guy. Frightening to think people like this are working & living among us.

This guy deserves a long time in Jail if the death penalty was available he should be given it

No one should have their life ended this callus way

Death penalty is the only answer to rid society of such monsters, avoid them to ever do anything like that again while saving millions of Thai Baht to the tax payer!

RIP. A terrible waste of life.

Sadly some women stay in these relationships and they are to scarred to get out of it b4 something goes horribly wrong, they often need help to move on, sadly she might have not had that, many Women stay in violent relationships because the BF can control them and convince them that they will change, my sister was a councillor for women that were in violent relationships, sadly it's a big problem in this sick world we live in today.

The depravity of human beings is astounding. Leason here is if the family believes the person to be dangerous, trust the family instinct.

And yet they're still looking for the Red Bull kid. But yes, glad they were on the ball with this sicko'.

The gallows are gathering dust ....

Wouldn't surprise me if methamphetamine paranoia played a part in this.

Surely Thailand still has the death penalty ,, use it on this turd , all though 20 years in a thai prison prior to that would be good

Death by a thousand cuts would be appropriate.

MY feelings entirely- what a horrendous end for such a young girl with all her life in front of her

I can only hope the culprit spends many years in a dreadful prison- and that fellow prisoners know what a sick animal he is

He looks like Richard Ramirez the "Night Stalker" of LA some years ago.
