Military Flypast Triggers Probe

The US Army has launched an investigation after military helicopters were filmed flying unusually low near the Nashville home of Kid Rock.

The incident, which took place on March 28, involved two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters operating close to the singer’s sprawling property in Whites Creek, raising questions about safety, protocol and the use of military resources.

Viral Video Fuels Backlash

Kid Rock — real name Robert James Ritchie — posted footage of the moment to Instagram, showing him standing poolside as one of the helicopters hovered overhead.

In the clip, he applauds the flypast and praises the military, while also taking aim at political figures. The video quickly spread online, drawing both support and sharp criticism.

Army Reviewing Conduct And Compliance

The US Army confirmed it has opened an administrative review into the incident.

Officials say the investigation will assess whether the flight complied with aviation regulations and authorised airspace use, with action to follow if any breaches are found.

A spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, said commanders are examining the circumstances surrounding the operation and stressed that strict standards govern military aviation activity.

Protest Flyover Adds Mystery

The helicopters were also seen flying over a “No Kings” protest in downtown Nashville earlier the same day.

Military officials say it remains unclear whether the flight paths near the protest and the musician’s home were planned or coincidental.

Public Questions Use Of Resources

The footage has sparked a wave of criticism online, with many questioning whether taxpayer-funded military equipment was used inappropriately.

Commenters raised concerns over the cost of fuel, maintenance and personnel involved in the low-altitude flypast, with some branding it a misuse of public resources.

Investigation Ongoing

Army officials say they are still gathering details and have not yet determined whether any rules were broken.

For now, the episode has left more questions than answers — and put an unexpected spotlight on military operations far from the battlefield.
