I have always been amazed how "religious" Americans are. There are the "standart-traditional churches", plus the "newborn christians" and the "evangelists". Combined, they represent a deciding political factor in US politics.

To a point, where a "non christian" (an atheist) has greatly diminished chances to be elected in any political office.

Worriesome is, that a good part of American Christians lean toward a "radical approach" when it comes to interpret the "scriptures". Bordering on religious "extremism".

Muslim "extremism" is much commented. Why not christian extremism?

Could it be that the time is ripe that the international journalistic community would take a closer look at the true "power structure" in the US?

Possibly delivering answers to "irrational" political actions currently. Irrational actions that the rest of the world does not understand.

But the "evangelists" hoping for "armageddon" do?
