Trump blasts Supreme Court over birth right citizenship ‘hoax’

Donald Trump launched a late-night attack on the Supreme Court of the United States on Easter Sunday, urging justices to abandon what he called a “money-making hoax” as they weigh the future of birthright citizenship.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump pressed the court to reject long-standing constitutional interpretations tied to the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, claiming the policy has been abused for decades. The intervention marks an extraordinary attempt by a sitting president to publicly pressure the country’s highest court.

Late-Night Message Targets Justices Directly

Trump’s post urged the justices to watch commentary from conservative host Mark Levin, whose programme argues children born to undocumented migrants should not automatically receive U.S. citizenship.

“If they saw it they would never allow that money-making HOAX to continue,” Trump wrote, demanding the court apply “common sense” to the issue.

The broadside came as the court considers a case that could reshape a constitutional principle in place since the 19th century — a decision with sweeping implications for immigration and citizenship law.

Frustration Builds Despite Conservative Court

The Supreme Court currently holds a 6–3 conservative majority, including three justices appointed by Trump during his first term.

Yet the president has repeatedly vented frustration at rulings that have cut against his agenda. Earlier this year he accused justices of lacking “courage” after they blocked elements of his global tariff policy.

In an unusual break with precedent, Trump also attended a recent court hearing in person alongside Attorney General Pam Bondi as government lawyers pushed the justices to reconsider the scope of the Fourteenth Amendment.

Media Allies Amplify the Argument

The pressure campaign has been reinforced by conservative media figures.

Fox News host Will Cain cited figures suggesting roughly 320,000 babies were born to migrant mothers in the United States in 2023 — around nine per cent of all births — framing the statistic as evidence the policy is being exploited.

Critics argue the claims misrepresent constitutional law and risk inflaming political tensions around immigration.

Political Backlash Erupts Across Washington

Trump’s remarks triggered swift condemnation from senior Democrats including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senator Tim Kaine.

But the sharpest rebuke came from an unexpected quarter. Firebrand Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene accused the president of spiralling out of control, writing that officials in his administration should “intervene in Trump’s madness”.

With the court now weighing a ruling that could redefine citizenship in America, the clash between the White House and the judiciary is rapidly escalating into a constitutional showdown.

So change the law if you don't like it.

Can I visit the United States while pregnant?

Note: On January 24, 2020, the Department of State amended its B nonimmigrant visa regulation to address birth tourism. Under this amended regulation, U.S. consular officers overseas will deny any B visa application from an applicant whom the consular officer has reason to believe is traveling for the primary purpose of giving birth in the United States to obtain U.S. citizenship for their child.

NB the Visa Waiver Program for selected courtiers is a 90 day tourist visa.

Anything that moron doesn't like or agree with is a hoax. Murikkka is SO screwed until he and his ilk are gone.

He has a fundemental problem, in that The Justices of The Supreme Court, whatever you may think of the political make up of the current bench, follow the Law and Cosnstitution rather than the commentary of a right wing TV host!

Does that mean that someone who is pregnant can still obtain the visa ? The language sounds like its the discretion of the issuing officer. At times it's difficult to tell if someone is pregnant. Which leaves the door open to abuse.

Am I saying that all who are pregnant should be denied a visa. No. But the system has been abused in the past. There is no doubt about that.

Tricky situation as not everyone going to the USA has pure intentions in regards to this subject.

I only posted that to show that the HOAX as referenced by the president has been noted.

Obama's revenge !
