What if I told you that the number one thing destroying your liver isn’t alcohol? Yes, alcohol-related liver disease is a massive problem, affecting 16 million Americans every year. But there’s something else, something many people consider harmless, that is causing chronic liver disease in a staggering 100 million people. It’s a silent epidemic, and you might be contributing to it without even knowing. Today, we’re going to pull back the curtain on this hidden danger. We’ll also touch upon the leading cause of sudden, acute liver failure, which might be sitting in your medicine cabinet right now. Your liver is a powerhouse, performing over 500 vital functions, from detoxifying your blood to processing everything you eat, breathe, or put on your skin. It’s time you learned how to protect this crucial organ from its biggest threats. The good news? Your liver has an incredible ability to heal, and I’m going to show you exactly how to support its regeneration. Key Takeaways The Biggest Culprit: The number one cause of chronic liver disease is not alcohol, but fructose, particularly in the form of high-fructose corn syrup found in countless

Quite a cliffhanger there.

Reminds of the thread where a US guy wants to bring in the "original" coke with the corn syrup.

Not the terrible stuff here made with cane sugar 😁

From Dr. Berg. After viewing too many of his youtube videos I loose my appetite 🙄

Never saw the attraction to sugary soft drinks. Even used diet Pepsi for my Rum & colas. Although drank enough 100 % fruit juices, and OJ being the only one with pulp, so not much difference. At least had some nutrients, especially if fortified.

Hard to find the big bottles of Pepsi anymore (blue top), mostly reduced sugar (white top) or diet (black top). I want sugar, and if they don't sell it, I'll drink something else.

He should double-check his sources.

Coca-Cola was always made with cane sugar until 1980.

The anecdote is backasswards.

Drinking calories is always an issue, besides plant milks. Juices have as much or more sugar as sodas. Alcohol of course in the form of wine, beer and mixed drinks is immediate sugar rise in your blood. Alcohol forces the liver to work on toxins before regulating blood sugar. Hypoglycemia happens. Eating while drinking is always a good idea.

Go back farther and you'll find something more exotic than cane sugar.

The original Coca-Cola formula was a health tonic that contained cocaine in the form of coca leaf extract.

This was gradually eliminated between 1903 and 1929.

The Atlanta pharmacist who invented it in 1886 was a Confederate veteran who had become addicted to morphine that was used to treat his chronic pain from war wounds.

Coca leaf extracts of various kinds were used in those days to treat addiction to opiates.

In Europe, Sigmund Freud promoted its use after the alkaloid was isolated by Dr. Albert Niemann in the mid-19th century.

You could have just said this in the first sentence.
