second hand market or outdoor food market in Hua Hin

Featured Replies

Can any locals tell me where the outdoor food markets in the city of Hua Hin are located?
How about secondhand markets? I know there was one at Blu Port shopping center a couple of years ago every Wednesday, but now closed. Is there still a secondhand market active now? If so when is it open?

Thanks

Ask AI it will tell you all you want to know about everything. It is 2026 now. Time to catch up.

Have you been to HH before ?

Most markets are a bit tourist oriented, and overpriced. A few for everyday living & locals. If self driving, unless walking distance to accommodation, use the baht bus to get close, if possible, as the is little to no parking.

Haven't done the markets in long time, and newer ones are touristy. Google maps will help, as reviews are usually decent. Chose most recent, and get pass the OMG reviews.

We tend to stick with mall food courts & vendors, or familiar restaurants, offering parking & AC.

This is a terrible use for AI.

Google maps, as pointed out by @KhunLA , is a much better option.

No it is not. Google maps give out of date information. Lots of reviews are 7 to 11 years old.

AI is far superior.

Outdoor food market, Baan Khun Por, Tan Diew near big C and Lunar market. Google maps for location.

Well KhunLA has provided an example of Google Maps output. Perhaps you could share a "superior" result from AI for comparison.

You clearly don't know how AI works, as it most likely scrapes its information from all those out-of-date Google reviews you speak of.

If a venue closes or a new one opens it's far more likely to be updated in Google maps than it is in the dataset of whatever AI you are using.

AI is not for everything. Choose the right tool for the right job.

His map posts locations with no info. Most of the reviews are 7 to 11 years old. I have been a frequent user of maps for years. AI is now superior.

Market Village Hua Hin (The Established All-Rounder)

This is the largest and most established mall in the city. It is popular with both locals and expats for its practical layout and wide range of essential services.

  • Best For: Everyday essentials, affordable dining, and community events.

  • Highlights: It features a large Lotus’s (grocery and general goods), HomePro, and a popular underground food court known for authentic and budget-friendly Thai food.

Just filter 'newest', and you get current reviews, past hours or days earlier. I also peek at 'lowest rating' reviews. Ignore 'highest ratings' and most reviews over 1 yr old. Photos are the best, as show the real deal.

Lol did you read your snippet before posting?

Market Village is NOT an outdoor market, it's a mall.

Your AI response gives a single, extremely wordy result.

Who even needs a review of a blinkin nightmarket anyway? All you need is a location and opening times - neither of which are provided by your "superior" AI response.

Ai is far quicker. Reading thru reviews takes longer. Market Village has the best clothes and food court.

The outdoor markets have less food options than Market Village. They are ok but not better or cheaper for regular food. The market near the train has nice expensive seafood.

Bluport has inferior food and more expensive clothes.

Okay so not only do you use incorrect tools for the job, you also don't read OPs...

Some markets are terrible, others are ok. Overall Market Village is just superior for food plus cheap clothes. They have specials out in the open.

I've been to the major ones. None are better for overall food except for seafood near train.

Please don't comment on topics you know nothing about.

I've been away for a while. Sorry I didn't realise that you were the latest BigNok incarnation. I wouldn't have engaged if I'd realised.

I realise you know next to nothing about Hua Hin, AI and google maps.

2nd hand thanks AI

Pae Mai Tuesday Market is arguably the best spot for true "thrifting" in the area. Located on Kanklong Road, this massive local market is most famous for its extensive selection of pre-loved items.

I just searched AI (best markets HH), and first one listed, highlights info from & link to Gmaps

Then links a bunch of OMG review sites. (useless). I think I'll stick with google maps, varied opinion with photos & important info.

Next up, links 'TripAdvisor' and simply more OMG reviews, most dated.

Last time in Hua Hin I skipped all the markets. Went to Market Village. Bought 4 shirts and ate dinner. No time wasted reading reviews or going to 3 different markets.

I would do the same again. Outdoor markets are never that much good. They are ok if bored but seriously overrated in terms of quality.

We do the same, if not hitting a restaurant close to where we are at HH for. Usually pick Bluport, as parking is more convenient. Had a nice beef curry last week. The BK at Bluport is a good one, if needing a double Whopper fix. Though getting a bit pricey.

Market Village if needing anything (coffee filters) from Daiso.

AC & hygiene being added plus at the mall food court & vendors, hopefully. Nothing sitting out in the heat, coughed or sneezed on, handled by them 'dirty farangs', and usually fresh cooked, not left over from yesterday.

Despite your pejorative quip, I do consult AI regularly but it has a one third error rate. I consulted AI about used bookstores in Hua Hin and it had the information wrong.

1/3 based on what? I find it is right 90% of the time. Ask better questions. Google reviews are 7 to 11 years old often. Human advice is mostly crap online and in person. AI is the best.
