Insurance for Toyota Fortuner

Featured Replies

I bought a relatively new Toyota Fortuna for my gf last year and now the insurance the dealer provided is already out of date. (GF in UK with me until recently and didn't tell me until immediately before departure last week).

I'm not the owner and can't drive (medical) so looking for fully comp with excess. GF is expecting insurance will pay every time a minor smudge appears or some chancer suggests his collapsing jalopy is irredeemably damaged by passing within a few inches.

I can't read the previous insurance and friends and family can't, won't or don't understand or explain it.

Plenty of advertorial here but would rather hear from forum users of course.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a question?

Go with 'Roojai' online. Then you can also look at the coverage (in English).

Apply online, pay online, claim online.

BUT if she is with you in the UK, and the Fortuner is sitting idle, then just wait until she goes back to get coverage, unless of course family or others are driving it while she is away.

Can you give me some experience of dealing with Roojai please? Do you have some connection with them perhaps? Owner / director / broker or simply a client / customer? Thanks.

Sorry, just checking. Thanks for your input. I'll take a look after I've had my dinner. 😋

Roojai will want to view the vehicle, they do mine via video chat.

This may be hard for the OP and his GF if they are out of country.

as far as i know, you also have the option to have an roojai agent come and inspect the car on site ...

What you seem to need is a "1st class" insurance available for cars up to a certain age.

First year for a new Toyota it will be insured via their connected insurer:

Aioi Bangkok Public Insurance Company

I decided to continue with them although they might not be the cheapest.

Damage/claim can be reported at any Toyota dealer.

Error excepted:

Third party personal damage 500k/person, max 10 million per case.

Third party vehicle max 1 million.

Own vehicle according to present value by age.

That includes self-inflicted damage.

Insurance for driver and passengers quite low with 50k/person.

Every Toyota dealership should have an insurance desk for doing a contract.

I too no longer drive (haven't for 14 years; also for medical reasons). Thai family were hit with hospital bills for my neice (part of one foot amputated plus necessary skin grafts) and also serious chest injuries for my nephew requiring ITU treatment. Being caused by Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) neither were covered by Thai National Health Service. As a result they no longer rely on Por Ror Bor mandatory basic motor insurance cover. All I can tell you is that they both researched various Thai motor insurance companies and both now have additional cover with; https://www.viriyah.co.th/en/

Possibly but that has never been offered to me.

They did offer for me to take my vehicle(s) to them though.

Go with Roojai. Web page in English, and so is the customer service. Video inspection of the car, easy and quick.

Changed to them a couple of years ago.

My Toyota Hilux Revo 2.8 Rocco year 2020 costs a bit under 9000 baht per year first class insurance. The old one was 24000 baht for exactly the same insurance. Wife is the registered owner of the car and she also signed the insurance.
