Isolation tank, ฿1500 in Bangkok

Featured Replies

It cost $200 in California

Have you ever done this? Would you?

I did it a couple of times as an unusual Tinder date thing. I found it to be about 20% trippy, and 80% boring.

Looks like this ------

Is this one of those cryptic postings or something kinky?

No idea what you talking about

You lie suspended in salty, buoyant water in silence and darkness

The sensory deprivation gives you a drug like experience.

It’s not that uncommon. You probably need it more than most people, given how hidebound you are.

Sensory deprivation experimentation.

You do not need a pool, per se.

You can wrap yourself in cotton and like on a bed.

Anything to restrict sensory input

Years ago, some Psych books has a full section on sensory deprivation, and the effects, and what it says about the brain.

I assume that this has become a topic of even more interest as brain research has also become a hot topic.

Concerning peeing in the pool.

I can see how that might happen.

Therefore, bet to just buy your own salt, and fill up your bathtub with lukewarm water.

Also add one of these water heaters available for fish aquaria, maybe....

If you found it so boring why post about it?

How about a plug in electric two bar heater? Should make things interesting and alleviate the boredom.

The 20% trippy part.

It’s great to do unusual stuff in Thailand on the cheap.

I popped into a spanking bar. 50 baht a swat.

Try to get that rate in the west.

A few years ago, I did look for one of those "space heaters", but they use too much electric power.

I am fine with just taking a long hot shower when I begin to shiver at night, or especially in the early mornings.

Just try living in an ice-box, and see how you like it.

Not for everyone, I must admit.

Done it once. Meh.

Would prefer a much larger room to float in so I’m not constantly bumping the sides in one of the 7’ pods. It kinda kills the whole sensory deprivation experience.

BTW….if you’re paying $200 in Cali, you’re paying too much.

$69/hour

So same price as here

Agree, it’s overhyped.

There is the aldos Huxley association, and the film altered states, that made it seem like much more than it is

Still, a novelty for the alternatively inclined to consider
