Baguio City is currently facing economic challenges due to a decline in tourist arrivals. Mayor Magalong remains optimistic that attracting tourists during this period will support local businesses and boost the economy. As part of the city’s efforts to manage the economic impact, 300 registered taxi drivers received financial assistance of P3,000 each, with plans to extend the aid to a total of 1,537 drivers. This initiative follows similar support provided to jeepney drivers.

City Social Welfare Officer Liza Bulayungan stated that the assistance funds were sourced from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). The city has urged transportation operators to register their drivers to facilitate aid distribution efficiently. These measures highlight the city government's commitment to supporting its residents amid ongoing economic challenges.

Looking ahead, the city government plans to continue monitoring traffic conditions and economic developments, adapting strategies as needed to promote tourism while supporting local residents and businesses. Mayor Magalong encourages tourists to take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience Baguio City at a less crowded pace, combining economic support with a serene travel experience.
