Essentially, Royalty waits at "home" to receive guests with full honors, rather than meeting them at the airport.

This protocol is followed for almost every world leader, from U.S. Presidents to the Emperor of Japan.

The difference here is that Don the clown thinks he is royalty. When in reality he is gutter trash.

Red carpet for Putin. No carpet for King Charles. Here we go.

For Trump or even his feckless VP to not show up at the airport for the state visit arrival of the Monarch of the supposedly closet ally was a royal snub of the highest degree. Any excuses are garbage

  • Not sure about this. It could be that Charles was told not to touch Trump's hand because you don't know where it's been. Trump has a habit of tugging a guest's hand so they fall forward and almost hu

Exactly what crossed my mind.

Look at the BBC website no mention of a "snub ",if it was, they would have said, or they were they being diplomatic, it's a state visit, not a political visit, I know politics will play some part.

And Putin never got a garden party with sandwiches (British beef), and scones, and to speak to both political houses.

As for the special relationship, that will take some mending, with the UK stance on Iran, and the Churchill comment, which the King will try and mend.

No need to try to mend anything to try to comply with Dons juvenile needs and severe emotional deficiencies. The king should simply be his himself and be as direct as possible with the circus clown. He sure needs to hear some decent counsel from someone who's not down on his knees kissing Don's enormous butt, and King Charles is very likely the best man for that job of giving Don some much needed advice.

A note, he got the red carpet at last night's banquet, albeit a rather short one.

A good speech to Congress and at the banquet by the King, and Dons reply, but Don does like the UK royals.

Even sitting Presidents can’’t override the Secret Service when it comes their Security, if they say “Mr President, you can’’t move, then they can’t move” That rule is there for a purpose, there was a recent attempt on his and a bunch of others’ lives, makes sense to stick close to the homeland, it has not been totally proven the man was not working alone.

I suppose you missed the point of the 250th anniversary of American Independence. It had to be done this year.

Thanks for the information. So no snub... the thread can be closed now as it's just another excuse for left-leaning loonies to bash Trump.

No wait! The snubs aren't finished! Trump butted in as the Queen and King were attempting to shake hands of senior US officials in a receiving line on the lawn of the White House. Trump pushed his way in front of both royals and shook all the hands while his guests the Head of State of the UK, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were left standing behind him looking bewildered. The receiving line was obviously for them - why would Trump butt in.

More stupidity and embarrassment from the "make me great again" dunce. The way he did it too. Like it was on purpose - miffed that the King is getting good publicity and Trump is playing second fiddle at every turn. Childish.

Where did you read that?

Regarding the airport arrival. No, Trump didn't need to be there - but he wanted to and did for Putin. The people left to greet the King and Queen at the airport were bureaucrats. At least Vance should have been there, if for no other reason than Trump personally welcomed Putin there. Precedent and optics. The latter Trump says he knows so well.

i'm surprised their trip wasn't cancelled in the first place. Having to suffer the humiliation of dealing with Trump for four days to grovel for this Labour government.

King Charles did well to go there. His speech at Congress was nothing short of genius and he received 12 standing ovations that lasted and lasted !!! Same at the Whitehouse dinner. Trump is too stupid to have understood some of the clever innuendos but a lot of the audiences did. What struck me hard was the voice of Charles , and then that awful Trump slur that followed. Worlds apart in class and education would not matter if the President had been a good man who cared for his countrymen , America , and not a money grabbing warmonger.

And the Scottish wind farms are staying there, now, back to the Epstein show.

The story about a "snub" was sourced from the Daily Express. Not a left wing rag.

The audience was generally clapping like seals. The Mooch picked up that the Vice President didn't look happy at times, and might have been the only person in the room actually listening.

Anthony Scaramouchi is one of the few people to have emerged from the first Trump administration with an enhanced reputation. That original Cabinet have basically ruined reputations.

I had never heard of the Mooch, and I thought, who was this foul mouth bozo, one of Trump's fund raisers. Gone up in my estimations.

Yep a king against a Clown only 1 winner.
