Happy with KVIK. (Mano cabinets/Caesarstone counters). Almost 6 years and still looks like new. Nice to have a dishwasher too.

Was actually hoping for something constructive. Want something nicer than the usual concrete box with plastic inserts.

Will you have no idea of the shape of the kitchen or what we had to work around. I too am a former chef and the kitchen is perfect for our needs. The extractor could suck you right out its so powerful

Our business designs and builds villa moo baan. We get a chippy to build the cabinets and fit IKEA mechanisms, door/draw fronts and handles. We get another contractor to make granite worktops (and also all window sills).

For a one-off look you can use doors/draw do fronts from the living room range, though that takes careful planning due to the limited range of sizes.

Massively cheaper than specialist kitchen suppliers.

If you want higher-end, we've used a company called Ott Furnit, based in Bangkok, seven times, if I've counted right. Twice in Bangkok and the rest in Pattaya. We are using them an 8th time for our current Pattaya build, a pool villa on the Darkside. I don't know what the charge is per meter. I give them my designs and they come up with the price.

Although they can do laminates, we like a more expensive acrylic product they have for the cabinets. It looks terrific, has a shiny finish that is easy to clean, is very durable, and does not change color.

I like working with them because I design exactly what I want and then give them my designs and they do the rest. The construction crew is very talented and professional.

Below are photos of one of our projects, a 1-bedroom condo we lived at, and designed for ourselves. Originally a lot of very dark wood, including the kitchen; we wanted to lighten things up. We needed an updated kitchen, lots of storage, and a home office space. In the background of the kitchen photo is a custom cabinet that I designed to hide an awkward, deep jog in the wall. It displays artwork and also has a lot of hidden storage on the side. If you are interested, Ott has a Facebook webpage; just Google Ott Built-in Facebook.

Post up some pictures of yours.

This was mine straight from the builder 15 years ago. Absolutely useless as there is so much inaccessible space. Since then I have fitted top cupboards around the extractor, and side walls from Major Furniture Mall in Phitsanulok, not home at the mo to take new photo.

My old space is just fine. I'm tearing out the existing concrete counter so I can put in a nice big impressive looking sink and nice looking everything else. I want upperscale drawers and cabinets, even though they'll just get loaded with junk.

Is it impressive, upperscale junk though? 555 hahaha

As I said post up your kitchen will as you are the pro. Lets see what perfection looks like.

I posted a photo a couple of hours back, of my kitchen direct from the builders 15 years ago. So much inaccessible space. I then fitted top cupboards to the sides of the hood, and along the side walls, cheapo chipboard stuff from Major Mall in P'lok. Far far from perfection, but it is not for showing off, but very practical and well laid out.

I shall remain mute, as I like your posts in general. Your criticism without being in the house I do feel was unwarranted. Have a good one.

So when can I come over to have a butcher's? 555

I shall not ''have a good one'' until after Monday night's match, and the FA Final. Cheers.

Next time down to BKK give me a shout. In Don Muang so you can stop easily before the silly traffic of BKK. Have a nice guest room as well that was part of the renovation.

Thanks for taking the time here. One place I went quoted 40,000 linear Meter for the acrylic face. My house sort of doesn't deserve a super nice set up like yours.

Some beautiful examples on his facebook page

If I wanted a kitchen like yours I'd slap some new tile on my old caninet and call it a day. I don't live in Isaan any longer where yours is adequate.

At the end of the day as long as you have a cooker, sink and fridge......it's all frivolous.

That first pic is pretty much same as the size and layout for my kitchen. You have an idea of how much that part cost you? Do they give a standard per linear meter?

No idea as it was completed 15 years ago, but inexpensive for sure. Kitchen was installed by my builder.

The frame is done with aggregate white blocks, and then cladded with the tiles bought at Boonthavorn

Kitzcho is available at every hardware store.

I did say that is how it was 15 years ago straight from the builder. I have NEVER been to Issan. Bye.

Okk, I'll go see them. I want champaign on a beer budget. We'll see.

Can't remember how much I paid but in 2015 I designed my outdoor kitchen (some 5-6m) with IKEA design tool and installed it myself (to make sure that design and install is ok), just granite bought locally. Still going strong.

They also do design and install too. If you are OK with their door designs, I doubt anyone can beat the price. Frames and fittings are good quality.
