Custom kitchen counter and cabinets

Featured Replies

I'm sure many posters here living in Pattaya area have experience with a kitchen build. Was wondering how much a meter you paid for the counter and cabinets.

I'm looking for something nicer than the laminated or cheap plastic stuff you see at most building supply places.

Was actually hoping for something constructive. Want something nicer than the usual concrete box with plastic inserts.

Will you have no idea of the shape of the kitchen or what we had to work around. I too am a former chef and the kitchen is perfect for our needs. The extractor could suck you right out its so powerful

Happy with KVIK. (Mano cabinets/Caesarstone counters). Almost 6 years and still looks like new. Nice to have a dishwasher too.

Haven't been there yet. The best price so far for adequate was 30,000 baht a Meter. And that doesn't include the counter top.

So you have been quoted Bht 30,000 for a one METRE chip-board base unit?

Have you looked in Global House or similar?

Ice furniture of Buriram does custom builds...give them a call

I want something nicer than what they have to offer.

Yes I understand, but 30k per metre is silly money. And the worktop extra.

The first place wanted 50K for a concrete build, top extra. I'm in total agreement it's crazy money. But, if you want nice, you have to pay.

In surrounding area. Checking in Rayong as well, but figured Pattaya has more choices.

Ah so the quote was Bht 50k for the whole kitchen and not PER METRE as you said earlier.

There must be loads of places down there who will do a good job, cheaper.

I can recommend Kitzcho kitchens. We used them for all the cabinets. Unbelievably professional. Installed all in less than 3 hours with lasers and a team that knew exactly what to do. We bought our own granite for the countertops.

Nope, per M. So a 4+ M counter is in the 200K range without top

It looks very nice, but not very practical with the hob far over near the door, but which should be in a triangle with the fridge and sink. With the micro and oven over the other side, you daily step-count should increase.

I was a professional chef in a previous life so I know about these things. You have to toss up between a practical and a show-off kitchen.

I always used local building co's for my kitchen +

bathroom, friendly+ did a good job. This last time

i used two of the big chains ......

The opposite was true ...too many designers,"technicians 'and

always ...the answer was no even to a slight mod.

They also insisted on 100% up front.

Sincerely did not appreciate your comments at all. Post up some pictures of yours. Thanks.

I bought kitchen in IKEA, Bang Na. IKEA has a program in which you can put in the measure of the kitchen room and model your kitchen with what you want. They also have staf to help you. IKEA have kitchens in diff price ranges.

I set up the kitchen myself.

I'm in the showoff category. Our Hob as you call it is in another room adjoining the main kitchen. The kitchen looks very nice. I think you're overthinking the layout.

The HOB, as I call it, is the thing you put pans on to cook food, can be gas or electric. Should ideally be in the centre of the kitchen, quite often on its own island.

The layout is the most important aspect of such a workspace. Look on IKEA or similar website where they have layout templates. Ooops too late now.

It must be my experience which makes me ''overthink' this and try to pass it on to members who can take it in. And as for looking nice, yes if you like two different kitchens, with different doors etc, with appliances in the wrong places, and doors 'stuck'' on the outside.

My old space is just fine. I'm tearing out the existing concrete counter so I can put in a nice big impressive looking sink and nice looking everything else. I want upperscale drawers and cabinets, even though they'll just get loaded with junk.

Is Ron stil there ?

We used hardware brought from Australia, with teak doors from SCG, internal fittings from Hafele, and a beautiful gabbro top. All of that was assembled onto a brick and concrete structure finished off with tiles. It has been working extremely well for 4 years now, the only problem being the tatami handles that I chose for the doors, and are slowly being replaced.20210531 IMG_3998.JPG

Home Pro has a nice selection of kitchen furniture; not cheap, but never 30,000 THB per linear meter! I bought my furniture 6 years ago and it seems to be of excellent quality!

Try' Planet Kitchen' on Tepprasit Road,,,on the left about 200m up from the traffic lights going towards Sukhumvit.

The owners name is 'Kieran'.....quick and quality work, with good planning and workmanship.
