Oh dear , you must be desperate for the cash!

Look don't worry I have worked overtime all last week so my taxes can go to you !.

Obviously didn't work or didn't save much Super if you have to rely on the old age pension to get by.

If I was 68 dear I would be on the old age pension too

, not that I can get it anyway when I do turn 67, having saved too much Superannuation, I shouldn't of bothered working like most here !

.I guess I will have to spend it all before I turn 67 !

That's not a bad idea, you can draw on your super at age 60, send your money Thailand, buy a condo and car etc

You cannot unless you have left your job

You need to be 65 if your still working

I have over 800k in there unfortunately

Did you claim to be on a Veteran's pension, in another post, some time ago?

To paraphrase the great George Best: "I spent most of my super on a Thailand condo, a car, and the nightlife. 🏎️🏢🍻💃" The rest I just squandered! 🤷‍♀️💁‍♀️

I did't follow GB's exact play book though.

You can also take out a reverse mortgage at 60 years of age.

You can take up to 20% of the value of the property. You keep majority ownership of the property, so can continue to live in it and do as you please. The 20% accrues interest and comes out of your estate when you pass.

Thanking Centrelink ?

Should be thanking the hardworking taxpayers like myself to save you for your failure to save enough money for retirement !

Of course calling in sick every Monday didn't help did it !!

Edited by georgegeorgia

I wouldn't thank you gg.

Paid my share of tax in Australia so arranged my financial affairs to make sure I could recoup most of what I paid in taxes to the government.

Never had a 9 to 5 job so didn't call in sick every Monday.

You have no idea of my circumstances so pull your head in 😄

PS. My Thai wife is also on the OAP so thanks for helping pay hers
