A Russian national, Smoliakov Konstantin, is under investigation following a fatal accident in Nha Trang, Khánh Hoà province. The 35-year-old allegedly drove a motorbike under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the death of a local woman. The incident occurred in the early hours on the coastal road Trần Phú, where the victim sustained critical injuries and subsequently died.

Konstantin, who suffered minor injuries, had a blood alcohol concentration of 268.8mg per 100ml, significantly above the legal limit. This incident has highlighted increasing concerns over legal violations by foreign nationals as the popularity of Nha Trang grows as a tourist destination. Local officials have emphasized the need for enhanced policing and enforcement of traffic regulations.

Police are actively gathering evidence and collaborating with provincial units to address the matter legally. Trần Xuân Tày, chairman of the Nha Trang Ward People’s Committee, underscored the importance of maintaining public safety and has called for more rigorous inspections to prevent such occurrences in the future.
