A patrolman in Manila has been dismissed following allegations of raping an unconscious woman in December. The National Police Commission (Napolcom) determined that Pat. Joshua Mendoza committed grave misconduct based on evidence such as eyewitness accounts, medico-legal findings, and video footage. Mendoza's actions were found to violate Republic Act 8353, indicating moral corruption unfit for police service.

The incident began when Mendoza, an acquaintance of the victim's husband, invited her out under the guise of resolving marital issues. The victim reported feeling dizzy after consuming a drink allegedly altered by Mendoza at a bar in Quezon City. She later woke up in a motel in Manila, confirmed by a medico-legal examination as the site of the assault.

Investigations were supported by CCTV footage showing Mendoza carrying the unconscious woman into the motel on December 4, 2025. The formal complaint was filed on January 13. Napolcom Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan condemned the actions, emphasizing they betray public trust and have no place in the police force.

While Mendoza faces consequences, Pat. Jehan Mendoza, also implicated in the complaint, was cleared due to insufficient evidence. The Napolcom's decision highlights its commitment to maintaining integrity within the police.

"an acquaintance of the victim's husband, invited her out under the guise of resolving marital issues." then drugs her and rapes her.

This guy is one bad apple, being kicked off the police force is the least that should happen. Some jail time is in order.
