The Trump phone

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Last June, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump announced the Trump Mobile T1 phone, a gold-plated device they called a patriotic alternative to Apple and Samsung. The price was $499, and they took $100 deposits. Nearly 600,000 people paid, pouring roughly $59 million into the Trump Organization. The phone was supposed to ship last August. Then November. Then December. Then January. Then “Q1 2026.” It is now May, and not a single phone has shipped. Not one. On April 6, Trump Mobile quietly updated its terms and conditions to include language saying that a deposit “does not guarantee that a device will be produced or made available for purchase” and “does not create a contract for sale.” Customers who have tried to get refunds are being denied. The “Made in USA” claim was quietly dropped after executives confirmed the bulk of production would happen overseas.

Are all Americans this gullible !!!

What here makes anyone gullible? Buying phones that are gold plated for $500 is just another item millions buy worldwide that are name branded. Not yet receiving them shows the company isn't exactly too legitimate, as are many others. Class action lawsuit coming if they aren't shipped, at whoever took the money. I'm sure there are many lining up for the job.

Not a good idea to label all Americans just because some are previous voters for someone they thought would help them in some way. Trump's lost many voters along the way, including some of my family members who have seen him for what he really is, besides what he's done good or bad.

My gold plated Casio watch cost me 2,000 baht in a shop near Tukcom in South Pattaya Road. Unlike Trumps watches it was delivered on time and hasn't missed a beat in 10 years.

This pretty much sums up the whole debacle from being 10 months (and counting) late to the fact it isn’t going to be “made in America” as was promised but “designed with American values”.

Ah, that's why you question whether it's a scam "What here makes anyone gullible?" Why else question gullability.
So you think many people outside of the USA fell for it? Or maybe this scam was aimed at gullible Americans?

Scams are aimed at those who are looking for a good deal, or something they already want. Millions are victims of scams and it isn't always gullible people. Look at how many are scammed here from all over.I didn't question whether this was a scam or not, and I'm guessing most didn't who might have fell for it, wanting something Trump oriented. If it does turn out to be a scam, then yes it was aimed at Americans as most people from other countries wouldn't want a Trump phone anyway.

A good deal !! you are joking !! if there is something you want normal people do research to get the best buy !! a $499 dollar phone you can get for $ 92Dollars and the specs are at least 2yrs old wow !! that's a good deal !!! There are a LOT of gullible people in America ( A gullible person is someone who is easily deceived, tricked, or manipulated. They tend to believe information, claims, or stories without looking for proof or questioning the speaker's true intentions describes a MAGA person )

People do look for deals, but when they see something that interests them, like these phones did as they're Trump fans, they buy because they like it. If people could get that phone for $92 they would buy them at that price. Many people buy things at the spur of the moment, impulse purchases, not because they're gullible but because it interests them and they have the cash on hand.

Seeing you've never visited America, you have no idea about it's citizens besides the opinions you've listened to in videos. What country are you from? If it's the UK, there are millions of your fellow countrymen in America. Are they also gullible because they live on that continent?

There are again, many gullible people worldwide, and you might be one of them if you believe the things others say about the country.

There are a couple here who actually think they know all about the food you can get there , from visiting a few times. That's both naive and gullible.

I have been to the USA...many times. There does seem to be quite a gullible market there in the USA, in a way there isn't in the UK. Their TV commercials are a thing to behold. It has long been thus. All too often trying to pull the wool over people's eyes.

Of course you are immersed in it, so it seems normal to you. They get away with practices in the USA that wouldn't be allowed in the U.K. and Europe. USA? Freedom to rip people off.

People tend to generalise, rather than to write another War & Peace about their experiences. Food standards in the USA are quite lax. Food additives that are banned in other countries, for example.

Actually no assumptions and totally informed, but being a person who knows little about America, along with the usual suspect here who always comments negatively about a country he knows almost nothing about, it's the usual reply.Actually thinking a few visits of a week or two has you gathering enough knowledge to judge. Pretty huge country America, and people who have lived there all their lives still know very little of what goes on there unless you constantly travel.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and FDA are actively targeting artificial food dyes, processing agents, and the "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) loophole. The overarching goal is to remove unapproved, synthetic, and petroleum-based chemical additives from the national food supply...

I guess, according to you, they don't know anything about the USA...
