Using brain instead of GPS,is good

Psychology suggests people who still navigate by memory instead of relying on GPS usually aren't being stubborn — they've kept a relationship with the physical world that the rest of us quietly outsourced about fifteen years ago and haven't quite figured out how to replace

There is a particular kind of adult who, in 2026, still navigates by memory and feel rather than by GPS.

Using brain instead of any crutch is good. GPS, AI and any other shortcut is a mental digression. This forum provides a good specimen of what happens to the human mental capacity when relying on easy handout shortcut questionable information.

Yep, I resisted Google AI until, just once, I let my natural defences down and it was game over. Is it the truth or are we being subtly manipulated?

A lot of this could sound like conspiracy. But really, we don't know what they're up to. Only that there is a huge amount of money in it for reasons I honestly can't determine.

Is AI what's going to be the final straw that turns humans into cattle? (We're already mostly sheep.)

How can you 'navigate by memory' to a place you have never been before?

Does that not rely on a GPS signal?

One can print the the maps from Google Maps to paper and use it to navigate.

Yes, and no brain required.

That used to be called a MAP in the olden days, for which you must take your eyes off the road to figure out where you are, whereas a phone, in a holder, with Google Maps or similar, can be directly in front of you, and a nice lady, or man, will tell you which way to go, where there are holdups with suggested alternative routes, and time of arrival, which is always dead on !.
