I have been suffering from depression for years but over the last few months I have began to feel better and wanted a mate. I have basically been bed ridden and living like a hermit since 2020, so I lost all contact with friends and family here. I thought I would try this thing they call online dating. and since I have a penchant for Asian women I thought I would try a Thai app. I was amazed at how many girls responded to me, but one in particular caught my eye. Her name is Ann from a place called Ubon, I have never been to Thailand so I have no idea where it is. Anyhow I have decided to fly over and meet with her next month. She is 24 and looking for marriage. Her mother has set the dowry at 2 million baht, which I think is fair enough (my parents left me a sizeable inheritance).

I'm really looking forward to meeting her, I haven/t been on a date since around 1995 so I am a little nervous, but we video call almost everyday and I have a warm feeling in my stomach. It feels so good.

At first I was quoted 5 million, but I only have two million saved that I can spare. Is this normal in Thailand?
