Replacing A Mother Board.

Featured Replies

Hi there, has anyone got any idea of how much it would cost to replace the mother board on a ASUS laptop. It only cost me 11,000 baht new but it's probably the best laptop I've ever had. If this is possible where's the best repair shop in Pattaya to go to for a reasonable cost. I really only want it as a back up for my condo which I only use for holidays.

Why is there a need to change the motherboard?

Replacing the motherboard is complicated, is your RAM, CPU etc compatibile the latest series motherboards, the latest architecture?

It could become a very costly exercise

I will go to Wattana for a quote. Maybe a costly exercise that's probably what the guy in the first repair shop mean't as his English was very average.

I got figures from AI and I converted them to Thai Baht. It was between 3,600 TB to 25,000 TB.

As the laptop was only 12,000 to buy, I'd suggest the cost maybe around 4,000 TB. If that is the real cost of repair I will probably go with that as long as there's some sort of guarantee.

Posting the laptop model would help.
