Multi entry non-o retirement extension of stay.

The above title explains my friends current immigration status in Thai (CNX to be specific) . He has come to believe that there is a minimum number of days he must be in Thailand to maintain this visa. Personally I am unaware of any such requirement. Any clarification on this topic would be appreciated.

Sorry if this has all been hashed out in the past.

Ludite at heart.

There is no minimum. He just needs to be back before his extension ends so he can apply for the next one. If he does not return by then, he will have to start over with a new 90-day non-O visa.

.....and not forget to maintain the financial requirements whether in or out of the country.

OP, correct answers above.

Just to be clear your friend has an extension of stay (a permit)

In addition a multi reentry permit.

He does not need to be in Thailand for any # min of days.

As pointed out above he needs to be in Thailand to renew that extension and also maintain financial compliance
