Refund of concert tickets - delayed for months

Featured Replies

Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum. My son wanted to attend the Rolling Loud concert in Pattaya last year so I purchased two tickets that came to a total of 14275 baht in May 2025. The concert was cancelled in October 2025, it was due to be held the following month.

My first call was to my credit card company to try and do a chargeback but they told me I had to deal with the agency I purchased through (who I won't name). They had a refund submission form which I completed and was emailed a refund "order number" and given a lot of conditions, but basically they gave themselves until the end of December last year for claim registration, then 45 business days after that to process the refunds, now well past those dates of course and still no money.

Two weeks ago I followed up by submitting a support ticket through their web system, and a couple of days later received an email along the lines of "sorry for the inconvenience, your spot in the refund queue is secured and on the list for processing, we'll ensure your transfer is executed as quickly as possible and nothing further is required from you at this time".

I've tried calling them, the phone line answers and just plays music, nothing else. You can't message them via FB or Line even though they advertise those, it seems to be either their web portal, or an email, or possibly a trip to Bangkok (but I think that would be a wasted trip).

It seems to me like they are just stringing me along making excuses with no intention of paying. My question to you is if nothing further is done by them is there any government department in Thailand (the agency has an office in Bangkok which processed the tickets) that I could go to to expedite this process, or is my only recourse to go my local police station and make a complaint? After which I don't know how that complaint would help me in any way.

Please only comment if you have experience in this or are aware of any said government department as my wife tells me she doesn't know and just to go to the police. I know it's not the end of the world money wise but I like to do my best to get at least some of it back.

A regular police report ( prawat kan) would be okay if you're going to civil court but you can file a report in the link provided, the Royal Thai Police Cyber Crime Portal. Going in person would be best, with all proof, if you have their address and it isn't too far away. There is an AOC hotline at 1441 also. I'm sure your wife could translate the website..............https://www.thaipoliceonline.go.th/

Who do you think your dealing with, the civic opera house or someone?

Hip hop and rappers promote violence and crime....

It sounds to me like the home boys just made an easy 14275 baht....

If you ever receive so much as 1 baht of this money back, I would be very surprised...

The Police will not give a rats azz.

Some things in life are better to just write off and move on....

Well according to Google the agency services 7 countries in SEA, processes over 1.5M ticket sales per annum, and has served thousands of event organisers, but thanks for your helpful input.

You have a few options

1. I would go back to the bank and push the chargeback as the service was never delivered, they are just being difficult - it should fall clearly under chargeback as service not rendered (this should be the easiest)
- Possibly just get the standard chargeback form and submit it directly (don't give them all the detail just say the service was never rendered and no refund yet)
- You can escalate to Bank of Thailand if they are pushing back here: https://services.bot.or.th/cpm?lang=th

2. You can claim under the Office of Consumer Protection Board
- Submit claim here: https://complaint.ocpb.go.th/
- They will go and sue the company to take action (does take some time though)
- Note you may need to attend a mediation session for this

3. You could try and report it as a financial crime/scam given the length of time for refund with the TSCD
- This one is a bit questionable so I would leave it until last
- Submit here (not sure if need an ID card for this though) https://www.thaipoliceonline.com/

In addition to these, I would pay a visit to the Office of the Ombudsman at Chaeng Wattana. I think there's also a Consumer Protection Bureau.

If the ticket company has an actual office, personally I'd go at end of day, ask to talk to someone and sit in until they give you your money back! Friday would be good. Don't let them try to toss you out until you get your money.

Think of the interest they made from many people's B15k! Don't let them get away with this!

correct

OP didn't say where the credit card was issued. When I had the runaround from Thai Airways regarding refund for cancelled flight in 2020 (voucher or 6 months to refund), my UK issued credit card then credited my account within two hours of sending them the airline cancellation notice. Try again more forcefully.

See you using this reply several times already, seems like the pressure of poor investment is getting to you ?

Only the second time.

It is indeed a poor investment. Fortunately I had a bunch of experts persuade me not to do it through ridicule and shame.

Another Farang saved

For all you thumbs down people who don't have the intelligence to comprehend the situation here....

This music company's promoter has already been busted for fraud, and all the ticket money has disappeared into a black hole...Look it up..

I highly recommend you man up and refund this guy his money back with your own money...

Because, except for the slim chance his credit card refunds his money...

This guy is not getting jack money back ever....I guarantee this .......

That is, unless you dig into your own pockets and pay up...

Come on, don't be cheap..

Maybe we could start a asean now GoFundMe thread.

I see quite a few postings of members doing it tough, a guy the other day wanted to sell his unused BTS ticket. 😂

Thanks this appears to be the best response I've received so far. No it is not a Thai credit card, so I have gone back to the issuer per your suggestion and at this point they have raised a dispute, and with any luck it will be charged back. Thankfully they had recorded my contact with them back in October when the concert was cancelled and they asked me to deal with the agency first. I advised that I had been dealing with the ticketing agency to try and get a refund but although "promised" by email it has yet to arrive, so now they will start their own investigations. I will advise of the outcome in this thread at a later date.
