UN Adds Israeli Entities to Sexual Violence Blacklist

UN Adds Israeli Entities to Sexual Violence Blacklist

The United Nations has included Israeli entities, notably the Israeli Prison Service, in its annual blacklist of parties credibly suspected of patterns of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). This places them alongside Hamas and other designated terror groups in UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ 2026 report on sexual violence in conflict zones.

According to reports, the listing stems from documented concerns including verified incidents of rape, genital beatings, and forced nudity in facilities such as Naqab/Ketziot and Ofer prisons. The UN’s Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict cited reasonable grounds for these patterns amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Israel has vehemently rejected the decision as a “blood libel” and politically motivated attempt to create false equivalence with Hamas’s documented sexual atrocities on October 7, 2023, and against hostages. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon announced the freezing of ties with Guterres’ office, stating, “We are done with this UN Secretary-General.” The Foreign Ministry described the move as proof of the UN’s systemic bias against Israel.

This development follows previous UN reports on the Gaza conflict and comes despite Israel’s emphasis on its own investigations into any misconduct and repeated highlighting of Hamas’s use of sexual violence as a weapon of war. Critics argue the blacklist ignores context, such as security threats in detention facilities holding terrorism suspects, and fails to adequately address Hamas’s systematic abuses.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between Israel and the United Nations, with Israeli officials accusing the body of moral equivalence that undermines accountability for actual terror groups. (Word count: 298)Key Takeaways

  • UN Blacklist Inclusion: Israeli Prison Service and other entities added for alleged patterns of sexual violence in conflict, grouped with Hamas in the CRSV report.

  • Strong Israeli Backlash: Officials call it biased and a “fake symmetry,” severing cooperation with the UN Secretary-General’s office.

  • Broader Implications: The decision fuels debate over UN impartiality in the Israel-Hamas war, amid competing claims of abuse on both sides.

No doubt Netanyahu, G'vir, and Smotrich will be jumping up and down screaming, "Blood Libel" to any Western press journalist who will bother to listen.
But? The UN's announcement is reflective of the view of the majority of the world outside of Western countries who seem to condone Israeli aggression and off-the-charts violence up to and including targeting Arab prisoners with "sexual violence." Just say, "October 7th" and all Israeli sins are washed away. Not.

I'm glad that the UN took this action. Now lets see if Israel starts open attacks on UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon in response. I would not doubt it.

The UN has not been relevant for a long time.
