I do agree, being single and alone must be horrible. I live in the west and gave up my car months ago. I am lucky my Thai wife is a nurse, and she looks after me, taking me shopping and driving me to appointments (yes, I am your age). We go out twice a week, which I could not do on my own since I am a bit disabled and can't walk very far. Posters will say, "Now, you live alone." Yes, I do live alone, but my Thai wife of 23 years still checks up on me every day (living alone for tax reasons). If I were alone, I would be buggered.
