Given that these Gulf countries have to be neighbours to Iran, I suspect that's not a great plan to foster long term good relations.

Reparations are normally payable by those who start a war. The first shot by the US was on the 23rd June, 2025, hitting targets in Iran, Iran retaliated.

To my knowledge, the United Kingdom has not paid Germany reparations for the bombing of Hamburg, Cologne, Dresden and other places.

I suspect the GCC states don't want the Iranian money. Bahrain has probably been the hardest hit by Iran. Bahrain is claimed as an Iranian Province (a long standing claim) and is majority Shia, with minority Sunni Al-Khalifa rule. I suspect the site of big billboards announcing the construction of, say, a new container port at Al Muharraq, brought to you by the National Bank of Iran will fill King Hamed with horror. Its bad enough that the Saudis are basically bankrolling everything in Bahrain, without the Iranians also trying to claim some credit.

The GCC states literally don't need Iranian cash. They are not like the dirt poor Americans, watching every penny. They have so much money, they don't know what to do with it. Plus they will get even more money with the AI boom/apocalypse. The Americans forget the fatalistic Inshallah mentality. Its a shrug, and get on with life. An Islamic Sh*t happens, especially between Islamic nations.

Sounds like a great plan to me.
