I don’t understand.

It seems that Zuckerberg is facing huge backlash for his plan to build Data Centers around the USA, and especially for his SUPER-DUPER 5 GIGAWATT Data Center in Louisiana.

So my question is:

Why doesn’t Zuckerberg avoid all this fuss, and just build these Data Centers in his own MetaVerse, where he can control everything…just like any other BIG BROTHER?

I have often enjoyed the vids out of ColdFusion produced by some guy in Australia.

He does a great job at distilling complex issues into info suitable for a young audience, even though I find his work quite appealing myself.

So, here is one of his vids about why Data Centers might not get a free pass, as they once did, in the USA.  And, the dreaded bubble…..is mentioned, too.

Oh, look, the YouTube link machine is up and running again and at full speed, even after hours.

As for the bubble, the real story is the collapse of the data center industry. It’s already underway. Microsoft has quietly walked away from dozens of planned data center projects. Some were already partially built. There’s also growing opposition to data centers being built around the world. It’s become a negative topic.

Eventually, people will be running their own open source AI models locally on their own computers. When that happens, all these cloud servers and data centers dedicated to AI won’t be needed. Why pay $20 or $30 a month for AI from a commercial provider when you can run an open source model that’s 80% as effective, while also being free and private?

Companies that fired thousands of employees a couple of years ago to replace them with AI have already started hiring some of them back. Many found that AI didn’t deliver the expected efficiencies, or that it made too many errors and ended up hurting their business rather than helping it.

The bubble is coming. Spending has already started to slow. There won’t be nearly as much demand for all that cloud compute in the future. And a few years from now, if everyone is running their own localized AI, many of these big companies could end up collapsing.

I'm not conflicted about AI. Don't want it, don't need it. Most people are not informed sufficiently to make a decision and will use whatever the tech companies feed them "for free".

The steady DRUM-BEAT continues to become more difficult to deny.

Or, probably not nitwits, as much as they are idiotic, psychopathic LOONIES...bent on the destruction of our world, for their own personal gain.

The point is:

What is 80% today, will be a 120% tomorrow.

Just wait a few months, and any open-source FREE substitute for SUPER-EXPENSIVE Flagship Models, will suffice.

Things are advancing rapidly.

Don't go off Half-Cocked, and splurge on Tokens one does not need.

And, NEVER SUBSRIBE, soley for AI Tokens.
