Has only started in the last month that whenever I try to open a saved site I either get a message "Security Check" or "Proxyninja" before the site eventually opens. Anyway to disable these, and have they been installed by the browser, ie Firefox?

Doubt whether Firefox installed anything bad. Maybe you clicked on something you should not have.

Try BRAVE browser and uninstall Firefox, although if some malware is already there not much hope. Run Windows Defender. Or NORD VPN has similar tools built in.

or "Proxyninja"

Apparently (after a quick search) this could be a torrent mirror?

One comment -

  • proxyninja.org is a site that mirrors torrent sites; it has a very low trust score on ScamAdviser due to hosting unlawful content and potential malware risks.

Do you use torrents?

Didn't you install Firefox VPN or something recently?

Have a look in your programs and see if anything is visible and or write it in the run box and see if it brings it up (presuming you are using Windows).

I only installed the VPN a few days ago, been getting these messages for a few weeks. Yes, I do use torrents.

Then that may be where it has come from. Have you checked programs and or typed proxyninja into the run box?
