VPN subscription only to watch World Cup?

Featured Replies

Some acquaintances say that I only need a VPN subscription to watch World Cup broadcasts from my home country if the VPN provider has a server there! Is this true?

Thanks

yeah, you only need a vpn to watch the World Cup - you could try Private internet access, they will give you a free months trial - you need to go through the process of entering your card details but you can just cancel before they deduct the yeat subscription. BBC has good coverage and a good site too - with subtitles. The other games are on ITV.

Too many free options.

Love the games so far.

go to live sports

Try Hola VPN free version, I've used it for several years and it's never let me down. By the way there's no limit on the usage.

I use Hola VPN and watch the Australian horse racing most days, I even have a bet at times. To prove it works you can't legally get into an Australian betting site if you're out of the country. When I want movies I change to the USA and again it works perfectly. I mostly use TUBI TV.

IMHO anyone thinking of using Hola free version should familiarize themselves of the potential risks involved.

Try a simple internet search of "is hola vpn free version safe?" using your preferred search engine (or AI).

I also have Name Cheap Fast VPN, it works well and it's about US$8 per year.

IPTV might be a safer bet than a VPN as some sites such as BBC are quite clever at identifying VPN servers IP's and blocking them.

Thus IMO Wizz TV (IPTV) has been reliable.

Or another site dooball (also discussed in another thread on this forum has worked for the World Cup - although not Premiership games - I found this site to be less reliable).

I have had problems in the past, but for the last 2 months or so, I have had reliable access to iPlayer using Surfshark VPN.

All good info for everyone reading...

Attempting to watch both the football, the Rugby and Prem Matches etc in the past has involved such a hit-n-miss approach - I'm glad I found something.

Its good that the BBC didn't yet filter out the Surfshark VPN - in the past I've had issues with the BBC blocking my ExpressVPN.
