June 18Jun 18 I am on a retirement visa Type O. I’m 75 and already have an account with Bangkok Bank but I would like to open an account with KrungSri as a backup. I opened my account with Bangkok bank 22 years ago so I forgot the form number to request from Immigration when I go to do my 90 day. It would save me time if I know the form number. Thank you!

TDL. In recent times some banks (eg Kasikorn) have also required proof of an address in pp country. In recent times some banks require a certificate of residence (COR)https://aseannow.com/topic/1381020-certificate-of-residence/

Thank you!Non-O base on retirement.Krungsri (2 different branches) asked for embassy letter after looking in my pp. I could open a new (1st time) account. 1 year lease contract and a valid U.S. DL. No proof of address needed.

Thank you!As pointed out, the Letter of Residence (I think it also referred to as a COR - Certificate of Residence) is what you need.... except ... except being if you have a Yellow Book instead of the COR - then that can typically be used instead. My recollection is when i opened up my Krungsri account, i provided my passport, and Yellow Book (and I may have also passed my 'pink-ID'). That was when I was on a Type-O visa. That (yellow book) exception is likely NOT relevant to you. Also, currently if on an LTR visa instead (AGAIN, clearly NOT your case) one also needs the "Notification of qualification endorsement for LTR" (from BoI) for holders of that visa to open an account. Its a paper war . 😅

A lease a bonus. Aside: kasikorn apart what I posted is also now requiring proof of address in pp country.A DL would be sufficient
