Yangon Thai Visa Recent Experiences ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've never been inside Burma ... except for Tachilek across from Mae Sai in Thailand ... But Air Mandalay has a travel special on for US $50 one way from Chiang Mai to Yangon on Fridays only (return flight also available for US $50 on Fridays only).

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's applied for a Thai visa in Yangon recently : is anything more than a 90 day tourist visa possible ? Any hassles or warnings ?

thanks, BW, Chiang Mai

The last we heard was that no visa of any kind for anyone other than resident was available. Don't believe many have tested that.

my gf whom is a burmese citizen got rejected her thai tourist visa TWICE because they mentioned that she had many extentions before, but those stamps were dated 1 year back.

she recently had a new passport made (legally.. just incase someone shoots thier mouth off) and is currently on her way to yangon to apply for her thai touriist visa.

Not sure if it will be approved.. but will update.
